Drop in quality. I used to order from pings regularly, and then I got my usual order and it was not the typical high quality I expected for the 40 dollar take out price, everything tasted substandard. Either they’ve changed the cook or the ingredients but whatever it takes please go back to the way you used to do things

Standard Chinese restaurant, and thats a good thing. In the age of buffets and takeout it is very refreshing to sit down in a real honest to goodness local Chinese restaurant. The dcor…Chinese, including the zodiac placemats. It was great.I had the Honey Garlic Chicken lunch special. It was a generous portion and enough for me. I always overeat at buffets, and although not the healthiest of choices, this was way better for me.It was not very busy on this rainy Thursday morning. The place has quite a few seats and being part of Sarasota Commons, there is plenty of parking. The staff was nice and the food arrived hot.

A Real Chinese Restaurant. The Chinese buffet has destroyed good Chinese food along with the Golden Wok style restaurants. Pings is an old school Chinese restaurant that serves fresh and delicious Chinese food that you dont worry about what meat you are actually eating!

Great every time. Have eaten here quite a few times, dine in and take out. Not a huge selection of sushi, so if that is what you are mainly looking for, this isn’t the place. Needless to say, everything I have ever gotten has been great. Portions are pretty big. Overall I recommend it.

Terrible Sushi – Other Food Might Be Good. I read the good reviews and thought I’d try the sushi. Knew it was a mistake as soon as I saw it. This was seriously some of the worst sushi I have ever had. The Ika (squid) was visibly dry and off color – slightly yellowish at the ends. The other toppings also looked very dry. The presentation left much to be desired – a garish round plate, no garnish, just a mysterious slice of orange (?). I should’ve just sent it back, but A) I don’t like to make a scene B) I haven’t had sushi for a long time C) Sometimes I am overly adventurous. So down it went. It all tasted as dry and bland as it looked, if not worse. Even the rice was all wrong. It was cold and too firm. You can get better sushi at a supermarket. Sorry Ping’s. Your other items might be very good (I haven’t tried them), but the sushi is a miss.Note: Just to make sure I wasn’t crazy, I walked next door to Daruma and got a few pieces of sushi, including their version of Ika. What a world of difference. The rice was ambient temperature and had a perfect texture. The squid was soft, moist, almost velvety on the outside, and slightly firm in the center. Everything else was great too. If you want sushi and you find yourself at Ping’s, I suggest Daruma instead.

After seeing Ping’s high rating, and reading the other comments. We decided to try this restaurant. Our dinners included soup and spring roll which were excellent. I had stir fried shrimp with rice noodles, and my companion had curried chicken with fresh vegetables. The rice noodles were perfectly done, and were very tasty with the shrimp and vegetables. The curry was the tastiest I’ve tried locally, the vegetables were cooked yet still crispy, and not smothered in too much sauce like so many other Chinese restaurants. Our host/server was very affable and knowledgeable about all that went into the dishes. It was a very positive dining experience, and we’ll certainly be back.

Delicious food and great service. Their lunch specials are definitely worth the price and dinner is not bad compared to other chinese restaurants. Delivery is available too which is a great plus. I would highly suggest the sizzling dinner dishes: dinner and a show!
