Just an ok sandwich this time. The main business of Publix is to sell groceries, but they also have a deli area where they will make you a sandwich or sell you previously prepared food. I decided today they could make me a sandwich.The deli counter area for this newly torn down and rebuilt Publix has three sections, one to slice, weigh and package various meats and cheeses, one to make sandwiches, and one to sell you prepared food, mostly chicken. Stand at the correct counter. While I waited for my turn I saw these signs for an Asian BBQ sandwich. It looked good, and something different than the typical sliced meat and toppings on bread. It must be a new offering, my sandwich maker had not made one before.This Publix does not make fast sandwiches, meat is sliced as needed, the setup not designed for absolute efficiency. Although my BBQ pork only needed to be scooped out of a container and not sliced, it was still a slow process with my first time sandwich maker.There is no place to sit and anyway, you pay at the main registers. Once I got to try my sandwich, it was just ok. Stingy with the BBQ Teriyaki sauce, it was a pretty dry sandwich. Ive had sandwiches from this Publix before and they can be good. This time not so much, but at least it was something different.
