Don’t go often but over a ten year period, the same excellence endures. Food, presentation, service and romantic setting have remained constant. Savor Sarasota menu was excellent, showing off the culinary skills of the chef-owner, the third generation Roesler after his founder-father and grandfather who was a renowned chef-owner in the family’s native Germany. This is definitely one of the top five restaurants in the Sarasota area.
Great Steak Diane. I took my brother and his wife their to celebrate their birthdays. We all had Steak Diane. Fantastic!!! We also had the crab cakes and the Lobster and Crab Bisque. Also excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys fine dining.
Food was wonderful! Service was good, the atmosphere gives off a older members only club vibe. The grounds are beautiful, I think sitting on the patio having dinner would be the best.
Continued Greatness. A favorite U.S. spot, we re-visited Roessler’s on a recent stay in Sarasota. Very happy to report that their overall excellence has been sustained. Ambience, service and food are all first rate and in balance with one another. Our entrees of Hawaiian butterfish and snapper were prefectly prepared and appropriately sized. Sides of rice, carrots, and red cabbage were also perfectly executed. Cocktails are made properly and among the best sampled in the past year. Chocolate mousse and key lime pie were very, very good. Overall, an extremely pleasant dining experience.12 Dec, 2009Consistant Excellence with Classic Dishes. We visit Roessler’s 2-3 times each year and always find it among our favorites across the country. This is a fine an example of continental dining you can find in the U.S. It’s not that they do anything spectacular – it’s about every facet of the service and the meal being executed properly.Tonight, two of our group enjoyed different versions of the new price fixe menu, a bargin at $25. Both enjoyed their meals, one of salmon, the other chicken marsala. Both diners found the dishes equal to their normal very high quality and only very slightly reduced in size. Another diner, ordered from the main dining room menu and selected a dish, Steak Diane, that is outside their normal taste; and a dish they had not tried since last encountering a proper version in Europe. This was an exceptionally well prepared version that had tremendous appeal to someone who rarely eats beef. Our service was efficient, unobtrusive, and added to our dining experience. We choose to dine in the Bistro room with it’s pleasant garden view – which again, quietly adds to the total experience. I highly recommend Roessler’s to anyone who appreciates classic dishes prepared with the care and precision they deserve, along with service and ambience to match.
Fabulous true French cuisine. All around great experience. From the setting, to the service, to the food, this was a memorable meal. The setting is either beautiful lake or garden view, depending on which room and where you are seated. The lake view is very serene and beautiful. The service is professional and unobtrusive. This all led up to a fabulous meal. My wife had the escargot and the night’s special, boneless short ribs over creamy polenta. I had the veal sweetbreads and the bouillabaisse. We followed with table-side prepared crepes suzette……hard to find these days. The chef is a master of sauces…….all of the garlic butter from the escargot was sopped up, as was the sauce in the ccrepes suzette. The boullabaisse sauce was a very nice, light, saffron version, and the seafood was of the highest quality…….shrimp, scallops, lobster, etc.A great experience overall. Yes, a bit pricey……but, the portions are large, and this makes for a memorable special occasion experience. Five stars all the way. Visited March 2012
Had great expectations. Great setting and if you order the right thing, the food is good. My wife loved her hawaiian butterfish. I ordered the rack of lamb, the house specialty, and it was the worst tack of lamb I ever had. The meat was extremely bland and they tried to hide it with on overly sweet sauce. It was almost like the meat was frozen; then again it probably was. For what they charged ($43), and the fact that they call it the house specialty this was horrible. The wait staff was a bit pretentious but I guess some people are in to that sort of thing.
