My parents, who are proud snowbirds in the area, come here semi-often for a quick lunch. The place looks like an irish bar / diner, but the food and service was quite pleasant. Had the chili to start, pretty good but too much on the sweet side. Then I had the salmon BLT special which was really good- generous salmon portion with a tangy mayo. Burgers looked really good too. This place has a pretty big local following (especially during high season) so there can be wait. Overall great american food neighborhood joint, would go back.

Great Neighborhood Restaurant. Love that this great little restaurant is in my neighborhood…serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is the normal standard fair with standouts being the stuffed French toast and sausage and gravy. Lunch favorite is the best hamburger in Venice…..with fresh hamburger from Herman’s Meat Market next door. For dinner , they have specials most every night with Prime Rib on Saturday’s, fish fry on Fridays, hamburgers on Tuesday….and be sure to top off your evening meal with their terrific Key Lime Pie!
New Management – Great Place. Since the new management has taken over this restaurant has changed in many, many ways. The interior has taken on a new and welcoming appearance. The menu has an appeal to all who visit, from salads to great sandwiches to steaks. My wife loves the meatloaf. Service is prompt, and on Fridays, they have a great fish fry. Beer and wine license. Prices are very reasonable. Parking in front and behind the building. Reservations at 941-224-0795.
Loved the prime rib sandwich special today it was generously filled with the best meat – service was very attentive – we will definitely be giing back
Yuk…. Big mess of yuk on a plate. Slow service. The place looks dirty and old. The only thing nice is the FOH staff.
New Owner and New Name. Now called Shamrock Cafe. Had a Philly Cheesesteak that was very good.
