They ruined a local landmark!. For years we have gone about once a month to Spanish Point to grab a burger, beer and always great sun set. Last night were we shocked! New chef, new servers, new menu, new HIGH prices and most of all the burger, fries & macaroni salad (that they now force on you) were terrible. They got rid of the cole slaw that was terrific. The only thing not ruined was the sunset, but hey… that was supplied by God! We have had visitors beg us to take them there, well no more, bet you don’t survive after the snowbirds are gone. Note: a little further south and you can eat at Pop’s!
This was a very disappointing experience. The view gorgeous. The sunset great. The staff trying really hard. The management awful. At 6 on Saturday night they were running out of wine, common beers, wraps for the wraps and wine glasses. How does that happen? This place has great potential, but is failing dismally
Not the same. My wife ang I have been going to the Spanish Point for 2 years now and we brought our friends for dinner today and it was the worst fish and chips we have ever attempted to eat. It was like we were eating mush.It was like there was new owners and they had no idea how to cook fish and chips and serve people.
Not very good. The staff was very friendly, but the food was only decent. We ordered a burger & fries and also got the fried fish & fries basket. The burger was very plain. I’m not sure if it had any type of seasoning on it–not even salt & pepper. On the fried fish basket, the batter was so soggy from grease that we ended up eating the fish without the batter. If the food was better, we would definitely be back because our waiter was great.
I have went here several times and the food was not great and not bad, but last night after thunder by the bay we stopped in for dinner. We called first to make sure it was not full and was told it slow. We were seated in the Tiki hut area and our server was a young girl that was the most inept waitress I have ever had. She seated a table of 4 and of 9 after us and took their drink orders before ours, then she took over an hour to take our order. The table of 4 that came in after us had their meal before she took our order, we had to flag her down to get her to take our order. Then she did not bring our drinks correctly. After another half our wait she brought out our food order and it was half right. We told her that the order was wrong and she was going to return it, but it had taken so long we decided to just keep it. Then we waited another half hour and no bill, and the dishes were piled up on our table and it was obvious we were finished and not only that but the place closed at 8:30 and it was 9 and there was only one table with people still at it. We had to go get her to get a bill. The lobster Bisque soup tasted like flower with a bit of milk and fish juice in it. We did return the soup and then when she did bring the bill she had charged us for the more expensive dish that she did not bring out that we had kept the less expensive meal to save time. I brought that to her attention and she took another 15 min to adjust the bill. We left no tip at all. The service was not only bad it made for a horrible experience. Bad enough that I doubt I will go back again. It was not only our waitress but the bar tender and other staff that is very poor at their job. I watched as they closed and the staff counted their tips instead of taking care of customers. I do not recommend going there as the staff seems to have either changed for the worse and the food is not anything special to be treated like this. Even the band played one song went to the bar and then drank, went and played one song then went to the bar for the full time we were there.
Great Coconut Shrimp. I hesitated to say how much I like going to the Spanish Pointe Marina & Pub, because it’s sort of hidden away and I selfishly don’t want it to be too hard to find a seat! The view is great, right down on the Bay. A great place to unwind with coconut shrimp and a cold brew.
This is a very nice spot. The restaurant is right on the water with docks for those who prefer to arrive by boat. Our group sat in a large open air tiki hut for lunch and the view across the water was grand. As for the food, the menu selection is limited but they did have a few specials. I had one of the specials, a Cashew Crusted Tilapia with slaw and veggies, which I enjoyed very much. The Fish & Chips looked very good too, a single large piece of fish so there would be more real fish and less breading. I heard it was delicious. This is not a fancy place. We ate off of disposable plates and drank out of disposable cups, but that fit right in to a relaxing lunch. Service was especially good. We were having a small party so in addition to the usual delivering of food and drinks we also had them bring out a cake and take some pictures. They were very accommodating.
