Wonderful Experience. Just ate breakfast here, and it was just flat-out incredible. I ordered the local favorite sweet potato pancakes and they were perfect. Topped with pecan butter and a side of the best bacon I’ve ever seen. My table also ordered a Blt egg sandwich and I was blown away by the freshness of the tomatoes and greens, and it may seem like a small detail but the bread was just perfectly buttered and toasted, which can be hard to do consistently! You can really see and taste the freshness of ingredients, and the chef really lets them shine. Going back tomorrow 🙂

Had a med turkey wrap and it was excellent but the prices are tourist so avoid unless there is something you really want. If you’re local go elsewhere, let the tourists and wealthy get fleeced, not me.

Good First Impression. For the most part we enjoyed our breakfast here the other day. Plenty of pluses and just a couple of missteps, mostly regarding the menu. Hostess and servers, who all worked as a team were perfectly friendly and welcoming, and kept our coffee cups full from the moment we sat until the time we asked for the check. Ordered a few plates for our whole party to share. Egg sandwich: perfectly cooked egg, on a much too small (almost silly) biscuit. If youre going to make a homemade biscuit, why wouldnt you cut them large enough to at least come close to fit the eggs, which appeared to be cooked in a 6 skillet, so it begs the queston: is it really homemade. Served in a bowl, which made me think they intended this to be a fork & knife sandwich; One other drawback: the sausage patty had poor coloration and a weird, gristly texture and bite to it, almost like the snap you get from a hotdog casing, but this was sausage patty….ehh… so it was a turnoff. To make the matter worse, I was told after digging in that it was turkey sausage, since thats the only kind they serve. So, what exactly was that unappetizing chunky texture in my sausage: turkey fat? The problem here is that on a menu, when it offers my choice of ham, bacon or sausage on the sandwich, its universally understood that the sausage is pork. Because turkey sausage is specifically mentioned elsewhere on the menu, I dont get or agree that they shouldnt specify in that menu item too. I actually wouldnt have ordered turkey sausage if I knew, since good sausage is another one of those benchmark tests for me at a breakfast joint. The only other menu failure is the potatoes. I ordered what I thought would be a side of breakfast potatoesyou know, home fries. The au gratin potatoes (even called home fries on the final bill?) were undeniably delicious, but at that hour of the morning, I was expecting and hoping for a more traditional preparation for breakfast potatoes. The classy waitress even confessed that these were au gratin, and offered to remove them once I expressed my surprise, but they were delish and addictive, albeit the cheesy cream sauce slightly broken. If I was hungover, I could have polished off a vat of them and hated myself soon after. My point is, Im a big boy and a savvy diner, why not call food what it is, and let ME decide what I want to eat that meal? What other quirky menu interpretations are there? I dont get to Siesta Key often enough to find out. The bagel, an imported Brooklyn version that was more breadlike than I prefer, was thankfully fresh at least, unlike the stale one I had at another breakfast joint just over the bridge that will remain nameless and unreviewed. The bacon was crisp and leanperfect. Multigrain toast received mixed reviews from our table: I thought it was fine and healthy tasting, others thought it dry. We would have bought a box of baked goods which they displayed near the cash register to share on the drive home, but they failed to impress and entice our group. Overall, the beautiful relaxed setting, earnest servers and kitchen staff that actually tries, made for a nice start to a perfect day on Siesta Key.

Great food but way overpriced. Almost criminal. Ordered 3 large orange juices for our family and spent $18.00 – just on orange juice. Broken Egg and Village cafe are just as good at 1/2 the price.

Overpriced and Overated. Nice atmosphere sitting outside by the palm trees. But then we received our $3 small orange juices. It’s more like miniature orange juices, 4 ounce glasses or maybe only 3 ounce. The $10 omelet is ok but nothing special. And the toast is as thick as a board and tastes like a board too if you are able to chomp through it. We could not believe the high ratings for this place. The Broken Egg just a block away serves a much better breakfast.

Mixed results. We stopped in for breakfast today and I ordered the Med Revival Omelet. I liked it. It was a good size and looked inviting with slices of tomato adorning the top. It was a little oily but one of the ingredients listed was pesto fused olive oil, so that was fine with me. My wife ordered the Florentine Benedict with the hollandaise sauce on the side. Hers was oily too, and that was not fine. Without the hollandaise sauce it was obvious the English muffins were pretty saturated with oil. Likely the sauted vegetables were not drained well before being added to the dish. I also ordered the gooey sticky bun with the heap of vanilla icing. Way not healthy lol. It had lots of delicious sugar in the form of a liberal amount of caramel topping and icing. My problem was with the bun itself, it was not soft, warm or fluffy. Good thing all that sugar would make anything taste great.
