It was a little better than ok. The pub is located in s strip mall. There is seating outside in a patio type area. The inside is cozy and makes you forget you are in a strip mall. The staff is friendly and there is live music on Friday night. There is also a pool table in backThe pub is a mainly beer and wine pub. They do carry some special stuff like Amarula, Irish cream, Godvia, ciders and some cordials of interesting flavors. I was excited that the pub had mead! I had a snifter glass of the mead. It was good but it came with ice in it! I also had a Stella apple cider which was also very good. I was disappointed in myself for not getting the Dessert flight. I have had most of those drinks and I think it is cool they offer in as a flight. For an appetizer we ordered the black and tan onion rings. They came out in a timely manner and were served in a cone shaped basket with horseradish dipping sauce. We were not given appetizer plates but hey, I am at a pub. The onion rings were really hot. They tasted ok, but a few had almost a freezer taste to them. For dinner we had the Shepard’s pie with a side of cabbage and a Philly cheese steak. I have to say both were pretty good. Not many places serve lamb so if was a breathe of fresh air to have it in the Shepard’s pie. Everything was hot and presented well.Fore dessert we had the Guinness Ice cream drizzled with Guinness draft and the chocolate mousse. Both were presented in a nice fashion. The mousse tasted ok, but once again there was the freezer / walk in taste. The Guinness ice cream was pretty good but there were a couple bites that were chewy and not creamy. At the bottom of the ice cream was the best because as you were eating it the Guinness accumulated at the bottom. All in all I am glad I went. It was a good experience and there are some unique options on the menu. Some of the items were a little over priced for the portions you received and some items tasted like they were straight out the freezer. I was so captivated by some of the things on the menu that I am willing to give this place another try.
The food was incredible! Perfect Reuben and the Beef and Guinness pie in the pie flight stole the show. Also, really nice beer, wine and cider selection. This will be a new favorite pub for us.
A delightful visit. It was not a typical visit, not to say all visits wouldnt be wonderful, but mine was a delight. I stopped in for lunch and for most of my early visit I was the only customer, able to chat with one of the owners, learn a little about British food, and more about the pub and the area.As for the food, I tried the Bangers & Mash. It is actually listed as an appetizer but was enough lunch for me today, although I regretted not following her advice and getting a second banger. The banger was very good. They offer several British dishes, all sounding authentic and delicious. She was describing how they made their Scotch Egg and it sounded intriguing to someone not familiar with the cuisine. I should visit again.I sat inside with the air conditioning and TVs but they also have seating outside where it was brighter and you can watch the world. The White Horse is both a pub and restaurant, and they carry a good selection of craft beers. Whether you are feeling a little homesick on this side of the pond or just looking for someplace where the selection is a little different, you should consider stopping by for a pint or some Fish & Chips.
Great wings
No good!. After standing behind the bar waiting on the bartender for 10 minutes I walked out. I was surprised that the lady ignored me and continued her conversation with another customer across the bar. I think it was just plain out rude! Stupid old lady……
Went last night. Waaay overpriced and not good food. The salad that came with the meal was about 3 bites (not in separate bowl, geez, how much does it cost for extra lettuce???), meat was fair, the fish was fair, $7 house wine. Could have had same at Outback for half the price, should have waited the 40 minutes there.
