Came to the veg at 7:57, unaware the place closed at 8:00. After walking in the door we were rudely ushered out the door saying they were now locking up. I apologize and asked if there was a chance we could get a piece of cheesecake to go. After shutting us out the person went and asked someone who joyfully let us in. When we got to the counter the cooks made a huge fuss and we were thrown out again. I have never in my life been treated that way. I would not have written a review if they had of said no. But the rudeness of four employees just shocked me. Never will I step foot in there again.
An Exceptional Organic Family run rest.. This may be the finest restaurant we have been fortunate to eat in.. That includes many countries we have visited. A high qualjty, family run eatery with the chef being on a high level. Call for a reservation as it is small & IN DEMAND !An exceptional eating experience !!!
This place is awesome! You can get your meal vegetarian or vegan. And they have seafood for those non-vegetarian individuals! Had the Veg (their home made veggie burger) with sliced avacodo … It was awesome! I highly recommend this place for anyone!!
I feel better already, or at least I feel full. Veg is a health conscience restaurant offering seafood and meatless dishes. We stopped in tonight for dinner. The place was small, busy, and at times noisy. We were seated right away, but I would recommend reservations. I selected a small Maggies Famous Caesar Salad and the Seitan Brisket. The salad was actually very good. As for the Seitan Brisket, I dont really know what seitan is and picked it because it was roasted in sweet & sour barbecue sauce. Figured it would be tasty and I was correct. I liked the texture of the seitan and the flavor of the sauce, although by the time I had finished the sweet & sour flavor was getting to me. The portion size was generous. If you feel like something a little different you should check out Veg.
I really had high hopes for this restaurant. My partner and I are vegetarians. We were visiting and found eating difficult in Sarasota. So we drove out to try Veg. Such friendly people and great service. The food however was bland. The portabello volcano sounded great but was quite flavorless (certainly very healthy though). Our meals came with ‘seasonal veggies’ which turned out to be steamed baby carrots (like the ones out of a bag) and steamed asparagus. Neither had any seasoning at all. We also had the sweet chili tacos with tempeh. These were passable, but definitely not great. I wanted Veg to be more about taste, but it turned out to be about just eating healthy. Both things are possible. I might be inclined to give it another try if I lived here, but honestly you might be better off ordering the one vegetarian item on the menu of more upscale restaurants in town.
So fresh!. I love the Veg! It’s so fresh and delisious. Its well worth the 15-20 min drive from where I live; downtown Sarasota. 🙂
