My coney island sauce adventure. 2 days ago I located Webbers Hot Dogs in Sarasota. upon arriving, I entered the restaurant to order. ordered small onion rings, foot long hot dog with coney island sauce and a small Pepsi. 1. not a Pepsi fan. but I can do Diet Pepsi…2. onion rings were very good and nice sized portion. I waited for order cause no one told me to go outside and that they would bring order to me. my problem began and ended with the coney sauce. the hot dog was ok and the bun was fresh but the sauce was terrible. sour and bitter. I am 72 years old and have eaten coney islands everywhere. I love them and have been known to drive from Bradenton to Brooksville for a chili dog. however, this one was the worst I have ever had. literally, I took the hot dog out of the bun and wiped the sauce off to eat it. threw away the bun and sauce. it was like biting and eating a sauce made entirely from vinegar. sorry but I won’t be back.
Not what i thought. Ordered footlong hotdog togo. order was placed in plastic togo container. when i got home, opened container and hotdog,was alll over the place. additional toppings were left off. was a mess. hotdog was also overcooked. good idea here,but some things need to be fixed.
A problem-free visit. My visit was fine, there was no wait to order and it took about 8 minutes for my food to arrive. The seating is all outside so you order inside at a counter and provide a name, and they bring the food to you. I tried two items, a Polish Sausage and a regular hot dog. Both were very good.For the sausage it comes with peppers and grilled onions. There were lots of peppers but hardly any onions, I would have liked less peppers and more onions. The casing had a nice snap and I detected a hint of charring flavor, which are good things. For the regular dog I got it topped with cheese and kraut and there was so much it smothered the dog. Thumbs up for both.I wasnt looking to have any problems today but I did pay attention in case there were problems. Most of the reviews to this point are not kind so I have held off visiting in the hope Webbers got their act together. I also arrived today about 11:25 (they open at 11:00), hoping to beat any hot dog rush. It was a problem-free visit. I didnt notice anyone around me having any issues. They had so many people working today in a small space inside I was concerned they would be in each others way all the time. Maybe so, I couldnt see from outside, but the end result worked out fine for me.I also wanted to mention they have 7 large fans around the seating area. As it gets hotter in the coming months they will be put to the challenge.

Never Waited 1 1/2 Hours for a Hot Dog!. Wow, is all I can say. My husband and I were really excited for this place to open because we love hot dogs and fries. This place had the potential to be a fantastic neighborhood restaurant. Wrong!We ordered a sausage, a cheese dog and some curly fries, then we waited and waited and waited and waited. You get the idea. After waiting almost and 1 1/2 hours we were given greasy fries, a sausage and an uncooked hot dog. I almost cried because I was so hungry and could wait any longer. The food was terrible, the service ridiculous and the set up does not work. There is only one way in and out. We watched the owner on his phone outside while customers were inside complaining. Maybe, they could have given free drinks or tastes of frozen custard to the throngs waiting…Very sad, but I don’t think this place will make it.
Bad service. Employees had poor attitudes. 2 were even rude. Food is not great.
Looks like another Sarasota failure. We came on a Thursday night and ordered two web dogs, two cheesesteaks and a basket of fries and two beers. Got the wrong beers given to us even though we told them of the mistake as it was happening, the cheesesteaks were burned and not as ordered. The French fries might as well have been from yesterday they were so bad. The dogs weren’t bad, but not worth writing home about. Oh and not to mention we waited in line for 15-20 minutes and then waited about 25-30 for our food. Don’t waste your time. Worst cheesesteak I’ve ever had.
