Good service. Very small menu, and not a good place to go if you have allergies, especially to dairy. While they do go out of their way to help, a lot of the foods of the menu just naturally have cheese, milk and butter.
New owners – excellent experience. Highly recommended.
Something was missing with this Savor Sarasota visit. I have been wanting to return to this restaurant for quite awhile and was excited when I saw they were participating in a Savor Sarasota promotion where for a couple of weeks people can enjoy a meal from a limited menu for less than what a typical meal would cost (prix fixe). My expectations were a little too high. Im still voting I Like It but on the low side. I ordered the French Onion Soup, Beef Bourguignon, and finished with a Lemon Crepe. This very French meal is also available from their regular menu. Both my soup and entre seemed to be missing ingredients, as was a Chicken Normande entre ordered by someone else at my table. The soup tasted more like just onion soup. It seemed to be missing red wine or sherry or something. It seemed to be missing some cheese too, there was just a little on 3 floating croutons, not enough to get that great cheese flavor. My entre was good, the meat nice and tender and the Burgundy sauce kept getting better the more I ate. But it seemed to be missing onions and there was only one piece of carrot. The side of potato (gratin dauphinous) was missing lots of temperature degrees. The Chicken Normande was missing apples, although to be fair it can be made without apples. I liked the lemon crepe. The table bread was missing any imagination. Service was fine.
