A good lunch stop on North Trail. It was quiet when I stopped in for lunch, all too common for many restaurants during the off-season this year. While I was enjoying lunch I was happy to see other customers arrive. The lunch I was enjoying was a Carrs Classic Grilled Cheese with potato salad. The sandwich was good with a goodly amount of melted cheese between two slices of browned but not burnt bread. You may add other ingredients like ham or tomatoes for a small upcharge. I thought the potato salad particularly good, lots of flavor. The only downside I can report was it was a small amount of food for my larger appetite today. The place was nice inside, service was good.

Worth the Stop. This place looks like a hole in the wall kind of place that might not be great. So we were hesitant to stop. But when we got inside we were greeted by a cute older lady. It felt more like walking into someone’s grandma’s kitchen than restaurant. . There were about 10-12 tables and about half of them were full. I had the daily special. A pulled pork sandwich with cheddar cheese and sauteed onions and coleslaw on the side. The pickles were homemade and very good. The portions were good for the price and the food was homey. The only negative was there wasn’t a kids menu. But the 1/4 lb hot dog and fruit cup that my 3 year old got did get eaten. He LOVED it. I’d recommend it to anyone in that area who just doesn’t have a grandma around to cook for them.
