Good ice cream, but rude service.A friend and I were looking for a place to study quietly, and we came across Edy’s. There was a large sign in the window that said FREE WIFI, so we went in and got out a few things. Within MINUTES we were blamed for the already broken power outlet and kicked out because we hadn’t already bought ice cream (after informing them that we’d planned to). I guess they wanted all five tables open for the nearly empty shop.I understand not wanting a study atmosphere, but they absolutely did not have to be rude. And why advertise free wifi?
The place is clean and the decor is truly soothing, welcoming and attractive. The owners are friendly and down-to-earth. They also carry local craft Popsicles and chocolates. Edys on Main St is a welcomed asset to Sarasota’s way-of-life. Coffee, WiFi, ice cream, smoothies, friendly conversation…who could ask for anything more! WELCOME!!!
Ice cream is great. I doubt this place has been open long, likely no more than a couple of weeks, and today was a big day. The annual Thunder by the Bay motorcycle event was this weekend and Edys was busy. The employees were pleasant and efficient and I had my cup of Espresso Chip ice cream within a few minutes. The ice cream is great and they have lots of choices. We welcome them to the neighborhood and wish them well.Edys is located on lower Main St where Scoop Daddy sold ice cream for a short period of time. Lets hope things go better for Edys.
