We should have listened to our doorman. After a day at Busch Gardens, we were looking to leave the younger kids home and have a great steak dinner. The concierge at the Ritz Carlton suggested Hyde Park. When we were on our way, however the doorman seem underwhelmed by our choice. He was very PC but ranked Hyde Park 4th after Michaels, Flemings, Ruth’s Chris. Hyde Park’s ambience was just right for a prime steakhouse. Waitstaff was friendly, just one error in serving a soup I had canceled in favor of sharing a wedge salad with my husband. But the food failed. They were out of most of the larger steaks by 8pm on a Tuesday night. And all three of our meats were way undercooked. The steaks and chops we ordered medium were basically raw in the centers. Hopefully it was just a one off night for such a nice place

Gift Certificate. We had a gift certificate at the Hyde Park Restaurant and were expecting a nice evening. Once the waiter realized we weren’t drinking, the service went downhill. We waited for everything and the crab cakes were mostly filler, the cappuccino mostly water. Good Luck!

Excellent food and service. Make sure to order the dry aged steaks. You will not be disappointed. If you are celebrating an occasion let them know. They treated us to an amuse bouche, champagne and dessert. The GM is terrific.

Completely horrible service, the worst I have ever experienced!!! Rarely see the waiters and when they do drop by, they just grab plates, you have to scream across the room what you want. I will not be back.

I saw all the bad reviews but the Ritz Carlton that I was staying at recommended it and I thought it was very good!

The worst steakhouse in Sarasota. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!! Poor service, poor quality of food. The steak was presented as a long dry aged bone in Kansas strip for a very high price..it was as tough as shoe leather, very misrepresented. We the manager ask how our dinner was, we told him, he seem very unconcerned. My husband and I were noticing around us other people must have been having issues as well. We also had the king crab legs, which were as the same quality as the steak. We also ordered the spinach and mushroom side dish which was drowned in butter and grease. When we got the bill they didnt even bother taking anything off! After we paid our $250.00 we left very sad that such a beautiful restaurant with such high prices had such poor quality food. Not worth the $250 bill. We will not be back and have already started telling friends and family who talk about going to not waste their money or time. This steakhouse won’t be around much longer, the residents of Sarasota will not tolerate it!

Hyde Park Steakhouse-OH NO!. Where to I start? The rolls were old and past their prime, the wedge salad while good had lettuce with obvious brown leaves, the steak was delicious, but the shrimp and scallops described as prepared with a herb garlic citrus butter sauce was so over flavored with taragon that I could not finish what was otherwise beautiful fish. Additionally it was a cream or white sauce base, tasted like a bernaise sauce, and it completely overwhelmed the delicacy of the fish. I even wondered if the wrong sauce was used. My wife said it is a steak house and that is what I should order. I don’t agree as it is supposed to be a first rate restaurant. One thing is for sure, the prices were first rate. Where was the chef allowing old rolls and brown lettuce out of the kitchen? Where is the chef tasting the sauce to make sure it is right? Who is making sure food is properly prepared? We will not go back.
