You crazzzzzyyy to give this place a thumbs down. I have been to several restaurants and this in one of the best I have ever eaten at. First off the view is amazing. 8th Floor of the Lido Beach Resort can’t beat that. We ate overlooking Sarasota and Lido Key. The service was some of the best I have ever had. Adolfie was very personable and always attentive to needs. They of course have bread they bring out with a tray of butter, herb spread, and peppercorn oil. We had two baskets. It was awesome. My girlfriend started with a Grilled Artichoke and Hearts of Palm Salad. It was very acidic and very good. I started with a Conch Chowder and it was the best I have ever had. For the entree she ordered Grilled Mangrove Snapper which was grilled and smoky and delicious. I had the Lamb Chops served 8 chops with a wonderful little salad on top with fresh mashed potatoes. If I had one negative it would be that the chops didn’t come with enough sauce. I believe lamb pairs wonderfully with a great sauce. Some pieces were Medium and some Medium Rare which was perfect. Very juicy and fatty. You have to get dessert. We were feeling frisky so we got TWO. If you can get one please choose the Creme Brulee. There are three different types. Our flavors were vanilla, mango and raspberry. Each was more wonderful and crispy as the last. The other dessert was the Key Lime pie. I am a sucker for key lime pie. I always pray they didn’t buy from Marie Calendars and this place didn’t disappoint. The raspberry and lime sauce on top just topped it off. Wonderful!!!!
Fantastic food. This place is areal find. Nice view and innovative food. The paella is fantastic (it was a special the night we were there). Service was excellent and it has a nice view. Ate there twice in the last week.
2nd review after one meal – it is that good! I’m absolutely convinced that this place is the best kept secret in Sarasota. Absolutely delicious fare. I will most definitely be back!20 Jul, 2011Very, very surprised by this place. I wasn’t expecting much – basically a restaurant in a Holiday Inn-level hotel, but the views of Sarasota are good and the staff takes pride in their work. The Chef entreats the palate with a tease of moderate eclecticism and pulls it off with an obviously lighted budget. The fare is expensive for the overall level of quality (it’s not Wolfgang Puck). PS this is the 8th floor restaurant, not the one on the ground floor.
