  Very confused about all the negative reviews. My family has been going here since the restaurant opened. We’ve been treated like family since we set foot in the door. The food is by far some of the best in the city and the drinks are also top notch. My family eats here at least once a week.

  Good First Impression. Some friends highly recommended this to us since we love Italian food. The highlight was the extraordinary service! Our waiter was very pleasant, checked on us continuously and we never had to wait long for anything. My wife had a capellini dish, our daughter had a cheese pizza and I had the black linguini with shrimp in a spicy tomatoe sauce. The food wasn’t exceptional, but it was good, I think I would try a non-pasta dish the next time. The tiramisu was superb as well. All is all, a great first experience!

  Rained out and left hi and dry. We had a bad experience with the customer service from both the waiter and owner. our party of 5 was seated outdoors. we noticed the weather was beginning to change and asked the waiter if he could take care of us inside if it started to rain. he said ‘no problem’ and didn’t seem too concerned. we were half way into our main course when the rain started coming down. the waiter was no where to be found so we all got up and went inside with our plates. the owner, and waiter acted like we were in the way and said he was waiting for people to leave a table. they made no attempt to help us carry our meals, drinks or bottle of wine from the outside table. our party of 5 had to squeeze in at the bar and finish our meal standing up. Finally a table was prepared and we were offered comp. desert or after dinner drink. we would have preferred a little empathy and a better attitude from the owner and better service from the waiter. It is too bad that the food here is very good, while the service is atrocious. They could use some training in proper restaurant ettiquette/service.12 Feb, 2012Mrs..   Another Wonderful Experience. I was very surprised to see the scathing review from a few days ago. We have eaten there many, many times over the years and have always had a positive experience. We had dinner there tonight (12/30/11), and had the same excellent experience. Our reservation was timely honored, and the service couldn’t have been better. The food as usual, was delicious, and the wait staff were friendly and helpful.The owners have always been present, and they make certain that your needs are met. I imagine that it is possible to have a bad experience anywhere, but I have never experienced it here. I felt impelled to write these comments as it is one of my favorite restaurants in Sarasota. Also, I am not related to them, nor do I have any financial interest in the place. They are just wonderful people who try hard to create a wonderful experience.

  Awful experience. Awful experience! a very rude owner. A confused wait staff. Apparently no one in control in the kitchen. 90 minute wait for entrees. When they had not arrived one of the women in our party of 4 went to the owner to find out where our entrees were. He responded that they cook to order which is why it is taking so long; he then pushed her out the door. I asked him the same question and he made a rude hand gesture and ran away from me. A three star meal would not be compensation for the unprofessional and rude behavior we encountered. They have no understanding of the concept of hospitality management.

  Fight Club???. Seriously? Wait staff who threatens to go fisticuffs on a customer just because they disagree on what entree was ordered? I’m a bit surprised that a place that looks like a classy trough ended up being a shouting (and near wrestling match)! Rude and inconsiderate. I hope they learn to hire someone without hot blood. You’d think that’d be the first qualification for your front of the house staff.
