Unexpectedly enjoyable. We were walking down Main St on a Saturday after a nice but not overly filling dinner and saw the Pastry Art place was still open. We did not expect that. We decided a pastry and a coffee would be an excellent finish to the evening. Walking in we discovered they had live entertainment. We did not expect that. I suppose being as much coffee house as bakery it is not so unusual to be open late and have entertainment, but I did not figure that out right away.As for the food, I had a cranberry and orange muffin, with a drizzle of maple frosting on top. It was a large muffin and very good. They have lots of good-looking choices. I went pedestrian with a simple flavored coffee.As for the entertainment, we found it unexpectedly good, and unusual. The deep baritone voice of Bill was easy to listen to as he played and sang, and between songs provided information about the songs and the time period when they were popular. The time period was the early 19th century. Some were familiar, and his rendition of Oh Shenandoah was moving.
Awful! Lousy service, rude staff. Hot cocoa tasted like dish water. Old tasting coffee beans.
Wonderful!. First time in Sarasota and my sister brought me here. Awesome! Great selection of drinks and pastries. I got an iced Chai (one of the best I’ve ever had, nice and anise-y) and the fruit tart. So good. Great atmosphere, outdoor seating, lovely people both in front of and behind the counter. Will definitely be back before I leave!
Great Coffee and Great Pastries. The pastries here are excellent. I was a fan of their blueberry scone (which was not see sweet, more traditional) and an iced mocha every morning while vacationing in Sarasota. My mom got her usual chai latte which she seeks out no matter where we are. The guy running the show every morning was awesome and after the third day there remembered our orders. My mom went every single day for the duration of our trip and by the last day the guy asked her if she knew about their punch card program and when she said no he gave her her chai for free since she would have been close to receiving a complimentary one anyway. Awesome service!
Great Pastries and Vibe. Very relaxed place for breakfast with wonderful pastries and coffee. A great place to buy cakes for special occasions as well. Nice blend of snowbirds and year-round denizens.
Love this place. Fabulous Cakes. Just the best in town for pastry’s and cakes and java. Love coming in the morning and grabbing dessert for my staff. Consistent and great quality for years. They expanded, came up to date, store wise and kept the quality as it’s focal point. EXCELLENT!
