Not a smooth visit. Publix is primarily a grocery store, but they do also have a deli. I popped in for a sandwich. I had a couple of minutes while they took care of other people so l looked over their menu board for something a little different, and found it with their Rustic Roast Beef & Blue Cheese Artisan Sandwich. When it was my turn and I told my sandwich maker, she didnt know what I was talking about. I did get her to turn around and look at their relatively short menu board. She had never made one before.She asked what type of bread (white, wheat, etc), it should come on Ciabatta. Ok, white. What do I want on the bread? I want whats listed on the menu board. As she studied the board she realized they had some already made. Probably just as well, otherwise I was afraid this was going to be quite a process. I ended up with a sandwich made sometime this morning.The deli is convenient for those shopping and grabbing a sandwich on the way out. For me not so convenient, once I had my sandwich in hand I had to go stand in another line to pay at the main register. There is no place to sit to enjoy my sandwich. I knew all that going in and it was fine. It actually did not take long from walking in to walking out with my sandwich.As for the sandwich, there was a lot of bread. It was a large sandwich but with just a normal sandwich sized amount of filling. Still good, the blue cheese dominating the other ingredients and I do love blue cheese. Was it worth $8.99 plus tax? For me, no. The next time I check out a Publix deli Ill be ordering something else.
