The food is delicious. I was just in Paris a month ago, and the food at Rick’S was far superior to what I had in Paris. I had snapper and the husband had the duck. This is one of Sarasota’s hidden gems!

We had an excellent dinner. Viewed from the outside, RickS does not stand out as much of a restaurant. Go inside. Four of us stopped in for dinner and we are glad we did. The place is small and filled up shortly after we arrived. I went with the Onion Soup and the Beef Bourguignon. The soup was not too salty and had the taste of a great soup. The Bourguignon and the two sides were also very good. The rich brown wine sauce was excellent, the meat tender. We commented how nicely the side of vegetables was cooked but without ending up mushy. The potato was I thought cleverly prepared, sliced while retaining its shape and with a cheese topping. The opinions from the others on their entrees were all very positive. This is great food from a nice, small, established Sarasota restaurant.
Terrible. The owner was rude when we had to send back food that was improperly cooked. Everything was over salted. Do not go.
Disappointment. Several people have told us that Ricks is the best restaurant in Sarasota. Having looked forward to an outstanding French meal, instead we were disappointed. While the onion soup was excellent, everything else was ordinary. The bread was stale; the salad was wilted; the main courses overly salted. Service was fine.
The meal I had was amazing. I had the medallian de pork w/ a demi glaze sause. It literally melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was very realaxing with a great franch feel to it. I definitly revomend it, my new favorite resteraunt!!
