Stopped in just by chance last night at Selva …I was only going to have an appy and a glass of wine ..the crab cake was one of the best I ever had (including best of 3 iv had this week )…I couldnt stop there ..the beef ceviche follwed and the salmon & crab duo topped it off …with wine pairings that were delicious and didnt break the bank!!!(old and new world equally represented)…I ate at the bar and my server Eddy was top shelf …As someone who’s profession is high end restaurants I am seldom impressed ..Great job by everyone at this restaurantMichael boone Alloy restaurant Calgary canada& Downtown food Calgary canada

Great food and on trend. This is a really good restaurant with an interesting, well thought out menu. The Maya shrimp ceviche is a favorite to start. As much as I want to experiment, I always seem to order the skirt steak. It is that good. My partner loves the tomato salad and likes to try different entrees. This time it was the grilled duck breast. Got a thumbs up! The Lomo Saltado is also great. It is on the pricey side but you get true quality, service and attention to detail. The atmosphere is also a plus. Love the little bar area.

Used to but not so much anymore….. Just another main street over priced restaurant with mediocre food. Ok the flight of ceviche 3 ways is relish….other than that the pseudo Peruvian is just not worth it. Again, the outdoorsy atmosphere rocks for a social setting when guests come from out of town, etc…but otherwise, not so much.

Not as professional as anticipated…. They advertise like crazy. But the real thing is far from the great advertising.Out of towners, don’t get your hopes up. It’s ok, but not what they want you to hope for. Good luck in Sarasota.

Top in Sarasota. I honestly have never been too impressed with Sarasota cuisine until I ate here. Professional service, nice ambiance, good wine list, excellant drink list. Ceviches were wonderful but small. Pork spring rolls. very good but small. Shrimp app with yuka, the best and nice size. Pork ossobuco, bland but cooked well and nicely paired, did not order the smal;l piece of foil in it though. The Duck was great and the skirt steak with chimichurri and sweet plantains was one of the best skirt dishes I have ever eaten. Did not try desserts. Only two complaints, small apps and sweet chili sauce. They overuse it although it does work.Highly recommended for latin cuisine in Sarasota!
