Great Spot. I love a good diner. The food is fresh and yummy, as is the coffee. Great service too. The ambiance reminds me of the urban diners I love in San Francisco. This will be a regular spot for me.
A nice diner. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals and these local places can serve up some good food. Silver Star was no exception. Nice and clean, and larger inside than I expected. I arrived shortly after they opened on a Sunday. There were already a few locals that all knew each other.I had the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, one of my standard go-to meals, but this time it was different, more like a Corned Beef Hash & Eggs Benedict. The hash was very good, the eggs poached, and it came topped with Hollandaise sauce. My server explained it to me to make sure that was what I wanted and Im sure I could have changed to a more typical interpretation of the dish had I wanted to. They did a good job, plenty of food.Service was fine. One thing that seemed to be lacking was joking around between the staff and the customers. Certainly not a requirement and so far as I know we all got fed, but that is something I usually notice in local breakfast places. My visit was fine, the food took about 10 minutes to arrive, it was very good, coffee was refilled, and we took care of the bill even before I finished my last piece of toast. All in all it was a good visit.
