MVP Burger. Best burger ever!!!
Truly an excellent lunch. As someone who no longer drinks alcohol, visiting bars is not real high on my To Do list. I kept putting off a visit to SPORTZ. That was a big mistake and I am so glad Ive corrected that today. I stopped in for lunch. From reading other reviews I was torn between trying a burger or a pulled pork sandwich, and was delighted to discover I could have both. They offer Larrys MVP, pulled pork on a burger with bacon, cheese, and offer the usual burger toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. I have posted a photo that mainly shows a huge pile of pulled pork. Trust me, there is a very good burger patty underneath as well. This substantial sandwich was excellent. The bun bottom stood no chance of holding together so I shifted to using a fork. This was a delicious and very filling lunch. They were busy when I arrived today yet I still had friendly personalized service. I had stepped inside, the place looks mostly like a bar, so as soon as I learned they had table service outside thats where I had my lunch. It was a beautiful day. As it turned out they were unusually busy this lunch, SPORTZ is just down the street from Ed Smith Stadium and the Baltimore Orioles had a pre-season game this afternoon. SPORTZ was a good place for people to stop by for lunch and a beer before heading to the ballpark.Once the crowd cleared I had the opportunity to chat with one of the owners, a very nice guy who has a passion for offering outstanding food. They run specials as well as having a nice list of sandwiches and burgers. For those more interested in the liquid end, as well as running a full service bar they offer craft beers, even offering gluten free choices. It was a great visit, way better than I anticipated. I highly recommend the food.
