Great food, quaint atmosphere. I was there for brunch today (6/5/14) and ordered the Key West Omelet. Among other things, the menu stated that it came with lobster. I expected a few skimpy pieces of lobster the way most places typically skimp on. To my surprise it was loaded with lobster and other seafood. Literally, huge pieces of claw meat! Wow! I can’t wait to go back and order it again.NOTE: I’m referring to the Sarasota location on Fruitville Road. I don’t know why it put Tampa Bay in there.

Breakfast House. We had breakfast here for the first time. The tables are so close there is not enough space to move around. The service was good. We had eggs and island pancakes with potatoes. Eggs and pancakes were ok, nothing special.. The coffee was weak and tasted burnt. I asked for a fresh cup of coffee but never got it. They came by and refilled my cup without asking and moved on. I didn’t drink the coffee and didn’t ask again for a fresh cup.For such a cute place, it was not the best experience. Afterwards we said we would go back again, but we haven’t. We probably won’t.

Absolutely WONDERFUL little place! Our waitress, Susan, was very pleasant and kept our coffee cups full! The Key West Eggs Benedict was cooked to perfection. Loved that each table was color-coordinated, and the salt-and-pepper shaker sets were a wonderful, homey little touch! We will be back again and again!

I had high hopes!. It seems like such a great idea. The staff were friendly, if not a little distracted by the number of tables they were dealing with. The potatoes were cold and getting a refill on coffee was very difficult. I know this is busy season in the area but, we won’t be back. I hope that things smooth out because I really like the idea and presentation of the typical Sarasota house, as restaurant.

Disgusting place. I am living in Sarasota for a few months with my husband & headed to the Breakfast one one afternoon. Had no idea what time it closed at so we arrived their at 2.15 p.m. No one told us they closed at 2.30. We where given a menu and picked a breakfast meal. I have never written a review before but this place was the worst place we have ever been in and I felt I had to write about it. The food was so bad we could not eat it. The waitress apologized and did not charge for it as we could not touch it. She said it wasn’t normally like that and we should come back again. No way will we ever set foot in the place again. Cute little cottage but food disgusting.
