Very cute hole in the wall diner. The theme is Elvis and you can read about how he ate there and was a very good tipper. The place is even decorated with Elvis. Some people find it cheesy, some amusing. The prices are also reasonable.I went for breakfast with my family. We had excellent service and the food was great. I did a weekend special and got the two pancakes, two egg, and two bacon. My family members got the Greek omelet and the burning love omelet. The coffee was also good. The portions were generous. The establishment isn’t open past 2pm so it is mainly breakfast and lunch. They are best known for their waffles. It should also be noted that it is a cash only restaurant. There is an ATM on site. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and think it is a Sarasota must see.

Elvis was in the house. For over half a century The Waffle Stop has been serving up food. Back in 1956 they even served The King. The dcor is mainly Elvis items, including a life-sized statue. Pretty cool. This is a regulars place with several tables and a lunch counter. I discovered when I walked in and picked a seat myself it is such a regulars place I accidentally sat at someones usual reserved place. The table even had a sign I hadnt seen. All good fun and banter with a few other regulars while I got resituated. For breakfast I had the popular Burnin Love Omelette, a spicy dish with a choice of potatoes and toast. In Sarasota spicy is usually pretty bland but this was noticeable. Not beads of sweat on your forehead but noticeable. I liked it.I also liked the casual atmosphere, it was a very comfortable place. The Waffle Stop is just north of the US41 / US301 intersection, almost across from the Ford dealership.
