I LOVE THIS PLACE. Amazing food and atmosphere. Never had a bad experience. This is a must try for anyone in the area. Check hours before arriving because some days they have shortened hours. …restaurant is small-ish so get there early.
Panang curry. Was so sad and bland.I ordered the duck panang curry and I was so dissapointed I nearly cried. The duck was dry, the curry was watery and overall very poor execution.Go to Thai city. Worth the drive, best panang ever.
The food is really good but they are woefully understaffed.
Happy Tummy. We have driven past this place a thousand times, never stopped it – primarily, because we are pretty novice when it comes to Thai cuisine. Yes, we have had pad thai, but have only just recently begun exploring the cuisine. There is another place we have dined at a couple times and have been quite happy with what we got. Since those trips I have developed a real like for Tom Yum soup – the chicken variety. That place’s soup is really good but for the occasional piece of lemongrass they leave in it – that’s a turn off.I wanted soup and the place was closed. I drove to Thai Basil and got their soup. Their menu shows Tom Yum Goong, made with shrimp. I’m not overly fond of shrimp in soup but they were more than happy to accommodate my request for chicken. This was a very good soup, and no lemongrass to spit out. Ok, I’m a fan. Next move, take the wife and daughter for dinner. I have my Tom Yum soup and the green curry with chicken. Wife had Param and daughter had the Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice off the house specials menu. Again, I adored the soup. The green curry was flavorful and great to look at. The coconut, the heat, the veggies, all were spot on. The param was great as well – and the peanut sauce was obviously homemade. The fried rice – well, I was skeptical about that one. However the flavor on this one was amazing.Service, well, there is room for improvement. We were never left hanging, but neither was it above and beyond. It’s a tight space and it kind of felt like were sitting family style with the tables so close and all. But for me, I go for the food, not for the atmosphere. And the food here did not disappoint. This hungry guy will dine here again.
We went in and it took over 5 minutes for the staff to even acknowledge our party of 3. It isn’t a large place the staff clearly saw us. We sat down waiting for menus then finally figured out we had to get them ourselves. Along with a table setting. There are great Thai places for cheaper with better service.
This place is a favorite for myself and my family. True Thai food, love going to this restaurant.
The best of the best. Just moved to Orlando recently and was introduced to Thai Basil by a friend. Thai food doesn’t get much better than Thai Basil. I’ve ate at the restaurant many times. All the dishes are delicious that I’ve tried: Thai Spring Rolls, Yum Nua Salad, Phad Broccoli, Phad Thai, and many others! Great service. I would rate this place a 10 out of 10.
