A great little place. The food was great. I started with a couple of doughnuts and they were sweet and good. In hindsight I probably should have tried their potato raised doughnuts, just to see what that would be like. I had not immediately seen that advertised on one of their windows. While I was sitting there enjoying my doughnuts and coffee I overheard someone brag about their biscuits so I also tried a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on a biscuit. The biscuit made fresh daily was larger and not quite as flaky as a typical biscuit. Made for a great sandwich, still not large enough for a my sized breakfast but combined with the two doughnuts I had plenty of food. Two doughnuts, the sandwich, and a cup of coffee totaled well under six dollars before tip.Bradenton Donuts is a place where the owners know everyone and everyone knows everyone else, except no one knew me. It was my first visit. I was cheerfully greeted as soon as I walked in and while I was not part of the conversations going on around me I started to feel that I was. Everyone seemed nice.It is a small place, mostly a lunch counter setup with a couple of small tables. It was almost full when I walked in. I picked what the regulars probably call the windy seat where the air conditioning blows on you. Too funny. Easy to spot the new guy. This is a family run business that has been in business for a dozen years. I was told, and I believe them, they enjoy coming to work. And that just sets the attitude that makes this a great place.
Great donuts! But no ice cream 🙁
