New location on 41 behind hooters, get it while it’s good. New location, grand opening, very good food. Get it while it’s good. I’m sure it will be great for a while. I’ve seen many many Chinese buffets start out great and slowly, or not so slowly go down hill. At this point in time, this is my Chinese buffet of choice in Bradenton.
This had to be the worst experience in a Chinese buffet I have ever had. To start off we had some sweet and sour chicken and sweet rolls. The rolls were hard around the edges, as is they had been sitting out for a long period of time and the chicken was hard and gross. That goes for all the chicken in the buffet lines actually. The Hibachi grill wasn’t bad, it was probably the best part of the whole night. Everything was flavorless and awful. Even the pudding was off, something that usually saves these place. The last straw was when my partner found some weird white thing in his ice cream, we just got up and left. The price for all this, $25. Out of this world. Never go here!
Grand Disappointment. My wife and I, along with my in laws and their friends, went for dinner on Saturday, intending to enjoy the array of seafood offered. However, upon arrival, the place was a disaster, the buffet was barely stocked and the condition of the food was unappealing as if it been sitting there for a while. Tasting it was even worse. I went through and selected a variet of different items to try – sushi, crab rangoon, steamed dumplings, honey chicken and their pork fried rice. Let me tell you, folks, this was not a good experience. The dumpling interior was raw and cold when I bit into it to the point of finding ice crystals in the filling. The honey chicken was bland and cold, and soggy instead of crisp. The fried rice was cold and tasteless, and appeared like a packaged rice mix. And also be careful in choosing the sushi – I chose three different pieces, two of which were noticeably warm and one had a decided unpleasant aroma to it. I’ve experienced plenty of sushi in plenty of places; it shouldn’t be anything but cold. When I solicited management’s attention, the first issue was the prominent language barrier. The manager’s English was considerably broken and the more I attempted to explain myself, the more defensive he became to the point of belligerent. I do not believe he adequately understood what I was trying to convey. From there, things rapidly went downhill. I am willing to pay for mediocre food and standard service, but in this case, the manager refused to make matters right and charged us full price. In addition, another senior staff member stood by and made comments directed at me in a distinctly Asian dialect. While I respect ethnic identity and culture, when you say something in my direction and laugh and then the other person (who understood you where I did not), I object strenuously. It is rude, disrespectful and hardly good customer service.Do not go here unless you want to eat substandard, risky food.
