Beware – apparently locals only. I had one of the most humiliating experiences of my life at this place. One Saturday night, my 2 girlfriends and I (all in our mid-20s) thought we’d check out the place. It’s busy almost every time I pass by and advertises karaoke, of which I’m a huge fan. Walking in reminded me of a scene in an old western – the stranger in town walks into the wrong saloon and the music comes to a screeching halt…somewhere a bottle breaks. All eyes, and the place was packed, bored into us. One of the bartenders walked up and demanded to see our IDs in a very accusatory tone. We obliged, having been of legal age for some time now. The patrons gave us dirty looks and waitresses refused to serve us. We decided to leave since the atmosphere was so hostile. On our way out, two 40-something women followed us into the parking lot with arms crossed, standing a few feet from my car. I thought they were going to try to jump us, so we peeled out of the joint. If you’re not a well-known local or under the age of 45, don’t go here! It was scary, and I wonder if I’d run into the seedy underbelly of Bradenton-SRQ. (If the owner or any regulars want to explain why this happened, i’d be much obliged.)
