Food is good every time. Have been there 10 or so times. Smaller venue and getting a table during season can mean a wait. Staff is fantastic. Closest to sushi I’ve had in Japan…chef is real deal 🙂 only thing it is slightly more expensive but is top quality.
Great menu selection, excellent service and delicious food! Small, quiet atmosphere.
As a former NYC-er, I say thumbs up. They do it all really well here. My husband and I are, I hate to say it, food snobs, and Kazu is our absolute favorite restaurant in Stuart. We go at least once a month, and enjoy all their sushi, their Katsu Don, their noodle bowls, the tofu dishes, and the wonderful service. It’s a small, intimate restaurant, and I can safely say, having gone over a 15 times, I have never been disappointed.
Great Japanese food and ambience!. Kazu has wonderful, authentic Japanese food, and the atmosphere is quiet, small, and relaxed. Definitely our favorite in the area!
Best sushi on the Treasure Coast. Kazu is the best little sushi restaurant in the area, bar none.Boasting an amazingly wide selection of sake, authentic Japanese cuisine, fresh and generously portioned sushi at extremely reasonable prices, this is a place we are happy to frequent on a weekly basis.Owner and sushi chef Kazuya Shimoda takes obvious pride in his establishment. It’s a fairly small space, but very tastefully and elegantly decorated, with the end result being a cozy but buzzing ambiance. It’s no wonder a lot of area sushi bars appear to be struggling – Kazu gives you quality, value and style, where at best you get two of those three from most other places around. Too many of the places on the Treasure Coast that serve sushi are trying to fit into two niches, usually sushi AND Thai cuisine, and doing neither spectacularly well. Kazu focuses on classic Japanese fare, and does it well. The sushi bar, manned personally by the owner, is the focal point of the dining experience, but the kitchen does serve up many other great traditional Japanese dishes, including tasty tempura shrimp and vegetables and teriyaki salmon. The kara age (a Japanese take on fried chicken) is an excellent appetizer. As mentioned, the sushi portions are quite generous – I’ve noticed that pretty much every other sushi place I’ve been to in the area gives you half as much fish per piece of nigiri sushi, and they often charge more for less. Who needs that, especially in this economy? If you’re a regular, you can get in on the frequent special occasions where the restaurant is closed for private sake tasting events, which are always popular and well worth it.You won’t find a better sushi experience on the Treasure Coast.
Best Sushi.. As previously stated, this is probably one of the best sushi restaurants around South Florida. Top quality everything. Between the sushi and the excellent sake selection, we easily build up $120+ bill for two–but happy to pay it. The only other issue is that afterwards it makes sushi from other places seem inedible.
