A step back in time. My first impression of Lady Ann’s tea room as I stepped in the door is a warm friendly feeling as Ann herself is smiling back me. I was seated at a table for two It was my Birthday and I chose to spend it alone having a nice lunch out .I ordered a pot of tea , the lobster bisque, salad, and the lobster crepes and a dessert all for a very reasonable price .To say that I was impressed in an understatement. her food and service is stellar . This is hospitality at its best yes it is small that is the Victorian era small also means better service and more attention to details that personal touch is something you can’t get at a chain restaurant.
Experience not as promised!. My sorority had planned a high tea for this morning. I visitted the website and perused the menu for the promised entre and desert that the web site claims is included in the tea. While the lobster bisque was excellent the remaining experience was disappointing. We were handed menus however we were not allowed to choose from the crepes etc nor the deserts. For our $19. the 8 of us shared two small plates of egg salad and finger sandwiches which are not listed as an entree, The promised scone, was a disappointing flat buttermilk biscuit . The deserts were fair but not those on the menu. We did not get the promised high tea that is shown on the website! The two trays of fruit sandwiches and deserts were served WITHOUt tongues or utensils??? II took awhile to get served, and we had to ask for the check. We were rudely asked to hurry because another party was booked, However the lag was their deficiency not ours. The ladies room had a dusty cobwebbed chandelier.
Outstanding! What a surprise to find this Victorian gem in Stuart. The scones are divine as are the entrees. A fun place especially for a special occasion. The menu is small but everything we and our friends have ordered has been top notch.
For a special occasion. Lady Ann’s is great for celebrating birthdays, etc . A very varied menu with something for everyone.
