Great value / Good food. I love seafood. I love oysters. I love fried clam strips and I love a good deal. So I was excited to check this place out. The area isn’t nearly as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. The particular town is considered Seminole heights and there’s a ton of good restaurants popping up there. It’s not a high end neighborhood but you don’t have to hold your wallet and keys tightly or anything. The food was good. Very fresh. We had the fried oysters, fried clam strips and the snapper dinner subbing the fries for broccoli. The staff was friendly and courteous pointing out that the snapper had bones….they weren’t lying. It was an incredibly fresh piece of fish that was fried very fresh with the skin and bones all in tact. Halfway through our dinner we figured out the trick….put down the silverware and roll the fish a bit in your fingers and the large broiled chunks of meat came right off the bones. The fried oysters (large box) was $10 and there must’ve been 24 separate oysters. They were heavily breaded (maybe a bit too much breaking but no big deal) and lightly fried so that they weren’t cooked to death. Fine for me but my wife prefers her oysters heavily steamed…so they might’ve been to fresh (or to undercooked) for her. Yet were not overly seasoned and needed some salt. Point is…they were good and plenty for $10. The clam strips were a similar story. We got the large box (means that it was the clams only, not a meal with sides) for $10. The portion size was out of control. It was a huge box. I might’ve preferred a lighter breading and some more seasoning but really wouldn’t have complained. They were cooked well and they were fresh. We had enough of everything for a second full meal the next day, reheating everything in the oven (and the wife was happy as the oysters were cooked a bit more).I would definitively recommend you try the place if you’re a fan of seafood and have realistic expectations of good, value oriented food. We were very satisfied and will absolutely go back again.
Love this place. The fish is fresh and the prices are great. Many commented on the neighborhood …theres nothing wrong with it… trouble can be any and everywhere ….mind your business… get your order…. and go home ..
I love Blue Sea!!! I get the grouper or basa sandwich and it is the best Ive ever had, and I’m a Floridian… You can look right into the case and pick the fish you want and they will cook it however u want. Nevermind the location, the food is fantastic, and so is the staff. I really want to buy some raw seafood from here too, it always looks good. A gem in Seminole Heights.
Awesome food, awesome price. Honestly the building looks a lil suspect and located in the hood, you Bay area visitors should go before dark. No disrespect, just keeping it real lol. However it’s totally worth it. Food is GOOD, hot, and affordable.
