  Dishonesty is not the best policy. Tried it on Sunday night with my 11YO Jonathan and a restaurant.com certificate. Walked i the door and were immediately smacked with exceedingly loud Mexican accordian music. But we went with it.Requested chips and salsa and were told they didn’t have that. Had to literally shout with the server, due to the music. Ordered nachos with chicken to start and, low and behold, it was made with chips! Go figure. The chicken was completely unseasoned with a little cheese drizzled here and there, a ton of iceburg lettuce and tiny chopped tomatos. I again requested salsa (from the same person) and this time received both red and green in squeeze bottles. Hmmm. The nachos were bland, bland, bland, and I bit into more than one piece of gristle.My entree was mixed fajitas, which I figured was a good way to sample the steak, shrimp and chicken. The seasoning was OK but again with the gristle! Also, the green peppers were old with the skin shiny and peeling up on the edges – yuk. It was served with tortillas and…nothing else. I requested some sour cream and received a small plastic tub of something white but it was too runny to be just sour cream.So I asked for boxes and the check and handed the server my certificate, which I had left out on the table in plain view. She then tells me they aren’t accepting those certificates. I ask why and she takes off. Then she comes back and starts writing on it about being 10% off but not $25 (see pix). I indicate that I don’t understand and she takes off. We wait and wait and apparently she is not coming back so we head off to the register. We run into a man who is holding the certificate and informs me that they do not accept these certificates. I ask why and he says that they cancelled the service a couple of months ago. I point out that I had purchased the certificate last November but he is unmoved. I’m not happy but just wanted to pay my bill and leave. He keeps at me about it and by the time I leave I’m so upset I just want to scream.So I go home and get on the restaurant.com website and what do I see but FIVE levels of certificates for sale for this restaurant, ranging from $10 to $100. Even if they had cancelled the service they should still have honored the certificate I purchased before they cancelled. My only conclusion can be is that (a) they did not have great food (although I did not try the guacamole – maybe that was my mistake), (b) the atmosphere was horrible due to the exceedingly loud music for no apparent reason, and (c) the owner is dishonest.

  Very authentic mexican place. It’s a market, bakery, and restaurant. The Guacamole is fabulous, It’s like they mix guacamole with pico de gallo, and it’s absolutely wonderful. The tacos are exactly what I used to get in Tecate. And in the bakery case they have Conchas, Cojones, Turnovers, and Bolillos, mmm. Watch out for the salsa, it’s way too hot and I normally love it hot, but this stuff looks like mud and burns your lips off, LOL. Ask for a bottle of tapatio and you will be fine.

  Awesometastical. They make some great food here, with some flavors that I rarely see in other Mexican restaurants. Check out the guacamole!!
