After a day at the zoo, I took my family for an early dinner at the Front Porch Grille in an attempt to get a change from the same old chain restaurants. I was overall very pleased with the meal. I like the simple cozy atmosphere and the food was very good. I had a 14 oz sirloin with a gorgonzola cheese crust that was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was delicious. The eggplant and spinach sides that accompanied it were also quite good though the spinach was a bit over salted. My wife enjoyed her baja fish tacos as well. The service was good, though a little slow at times. I would also suggest that they ask before bring the kids food out in advance. We like to all eat at the same time and by the time my wife and I got our food, my boys were done.Overall we really enjoyed the Front Porch Grille and would certainly go back.
Went before a hockey game and was our first visit. Was pleasantly surprised. At first menu didn’t quite stand out as this is going to be awesome, but when we got our food, we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Ordered brisket and cheddar sandwich with fries. Very tasty. Fries are fresh cut and could have gotten another order of them. Also had the chicken Thai flat bread. Not sure it reminded me of Thai but it was good. Ended with the banana heaven. Let’s just say it was heavenly. Will go back.
Horrible service and mediocre food. Friend had soggy fries, and my eggplant parm was bland. Waited fifteen minutes just for our drink order to be taken. Don’t waste your time. Go next door to Fodder and Shine and get yourself some biscuits instead.
Too busy for their own good. Came originally in October 2014 and loved the food and experience. Today was another story. We sat by the inside bar, 1st time was outside. Service started good and quickly went down once the dinner rush came in. Took 15min to get a glass of wine. 40-45min to get our food. Didn’t offer cornbread during our wait. By the time we found our server to ask for it, it arrived with our food which wasn’t the right order(wrong flatbread and wrong sides with the entree). We were hungry and it was so busy we didn’t want to send it back. The BBQ Chicken was dry and fries(which we didn’t want to begin with) were soggy. Had to ask another server for a box and our check bc our server, Nicole, was busy chit chatting. Overall our service and the food was poor. Probably not coming back here, at least not for food.
Solid, good food. This place has improved quite a bit over the years. I used to come just for drinks and appetizers, but they’ve improved their menu and service. Love it! It’s basic american fare but it’s always good. I love the vegetarian ravioli and lasagna, the calamari is great too!
Amazing experience. My boyfriend interest and I went to the Front Porch after hearing about it from a couple we ran into at the farmers market. Let me just say were surprised at how great everything was. After the couple told us about it we went online and found some negative reviews but we have to disagree with all of them. We had a very knowledgeable server who went over all the drink specials and her favorite items on the menu. I mean this girl knew everything and talked so passionately about the whole place. We ended up going with a glass of sangria and a 3 daughter beer. We took our servers advice and ordered the calamari to start. It was fantastic. We then ordered the penne milano and the steak with 1898 topping which our server told us is because that’s the year the house was built. We then had the banana heaven. Let me just say wow. The one really unique thing we saw there was the team work the servers were doing. Clearing and refilling drinks at tables that were not theirs and helping communicate with each other. We were so pleased with our server Kassandra but we were also well checked on by a tall guy with black hair. All and all it was like we ate at a bed and breakfast. It was a family experience with so much character. I just wanted to say thank you to the entire staff for a great time.
Terrible Experience. We went with a party of 8 that included my Grandma who is visiting from Hawaii and family who lives in Lutz. We live in Seminole Heights and were excited to show off a neighborhood restaurant. I should have known it was going to be a disaster when I told them we had 9 people and they acted completely put out as if 9 is the largest party they have ever dealt with. From there it got worse taking 30 minutes just to get drinks. I literally left for 15 minutes to drive up the street to my house so I could feed my cats and let my dog out. When I got back our apps had not yet arrived. 20 minutes later they got there and another 20 minutes after that we were told our main order never got put in due to a computer glitch but they would put a rush on it. After another 20 minutes my parents got up to check on our food and were given some nonsense about a medium well burger holding the food up. When our food finally came said burger was barely cooked medium, when that was pointed out they offered to cook it again which we declined. We asked for the entire bill to be comped as we had been there 2 hours. The waitress said we would have to ask the manager to comp the bill. When asked why the manager had not come to our table even though they knew we were upset the waitress said the manager would only come over if we asked, so we did. The manager was less than helpful and seemed to care less when we mentioned the 8 of us would never be back. She grudgingly took the burger and our apps off the bill which was ridiculous based on our overall experience. All in all, it was embarrassing to take out of town guests to this place and I will never go back even though I live 3 minutes up the road. If they can’t get a handle on their customer service they won’t last much longer.
