Update 5/4/16 — Dirty Dining Report shows food kept at dangerous temperatures and cockroaches all over.— Original post- I really want to like this place – for two reasons, it is in my neighborhood and it is the only thing open late in our area. However, every time we go there for late night tacos, we swear we are never going back. I do have to say that at other locations (st. pete and downtown Tampa) we have had much better experiences. Also, our bad experiences have also happened after 10pm at the Seminole Heights location. It is possible that it is just the late shift that has had the issues. Our issues have been: Hair in food, plastic wrappers in the meat of a burrito, waiting over 30 mins for food, ordering a large order take away just to get home and be missing half the order etc. All that being said, I have had great tacos at other Taco Bus locations that I will probably not give up on the chain in general.
Perfect, best, delicious, nice variety, best vegetable options. I am short of adjectives. Service is the best. Staff is knowledgeable. You must try this place if you are visiting Tampa. I’ll visit this place again and again.
Numerous closings for health code violations. They have a serious roach and rat infestation. Generally not impressed with the employees the few times I’ve gone, and with the sanitaion issues, I’d rather stay away.
Surprisingly, they really do make their food in an old yellow school bus. The nearby areas might be sketchy, but it’s worth the trip for really good tacos. Easy ordering. You pick a style (hard, soft, tostada, burrito, etc), then a protein, then finally the toppings. Plenty of shaded seating. foodiefrog.com
Maybe my taste buds are blinded by my loyalism to local cuisine, but I will take Taco Bus over any Chipotle or Moe’s any day of the week. Burrito Preado with Butternut Squash and a large Horchata please.
Late night and day time. Great late night and day time food! Good service, fresh ingredients, and great flavor. I definitely recommend.
We’re done here!. New owners and the urban sprawl to expand seem to have taken their toll on this once jewel of Tampa where good food is hard to come by.Tasteless, assembly line food that is getting more expensive than ever is the norm here now and the magic is gone. One on every corner now and the two we frequented are now off our list for future visits. It’s a shame that they allowed this to happen but time goes on and someone or thing will come along to replace this void in the Tampa food scene. But it ain’t Ducky’s. LOL.
