Best food on campus, by far. Tarek’s has delicious food! Some healthy items, some indulgent items. The items I’ve tried and love include: 1. The cheeseburger. This thing is so perfect; it is always juicy with the right amount of cheesy-ness. I like mine with crunchy pickles inside. 2. The gyro. It’s got homemade tzatziki sauce on fresh, warm pita. 3. Black beans and rice. I am Latina, and I must say that this is some of the best BBR I’ve had around the USF area. Tarek’s kicks it up a notch with some hot sauce. If you really dig this dish, come back the next day – it’s usually the soup du jour! 4. The desserts. Tarek’s has home made cakes and cookies. They vary weekly and include a basic (but amazingly indulgent) chocolate cake, a slightly sweet nut encrusted carrot cake with caramelized carrot, huge morning muffins, and even cake pops! 5. The morning cheese toast. I’ve been eating this for years – Cuban toast on the grill, lightly buttered, with melted cheese. Perfect. I crave this stuff. 6. The tilapia. among one of my fave daily specials, served with in-season veggies from Tarek’s greenhouse. 7. Last but not least, the sweet tea. Fresh brewed daily, it runs out quick!
BEST FOOD ON USF CAMPUS. If you are a student or employee at USF. You are missing out if you don’t at least have one meal at Tareks. Either Breakfast or Lunch, you will not be displeased. Best home cooked food you will ever have. I have been working at USF for close to 5 years. I have to say, for the price, quality and service, Tareks Cafe cannot be beat. Great people, great food, always a warm welcome when you walk in there door.You will be missing out in life if you don’t stop by and try Tareks.

A hidden gem on the USF campus. Not a chain, not a corporation. Great food, friendly, homey atmosphere. I love this place. They are a great asset to the campus.
