My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marenas beach resort for our vacation. Our first impressesion of the resort was wonderful. Clean hotel, friendly staff, and relaxing environment. Since this was our first time here and we has been up since 5 am from our flight we decided to have lunch here since it was convenient. We ordered fried calamari, a cheese burger with fries and a Cobb salad. Since it was lunch time and most of their business is done outside by the pool at this hour there was only one girl at the bar. She sat us, took our order quickly, and got us our calamari. My boyfriend and I are italian and come from families that cook excellent italian food. So fried calamari is something we can say we are experts on. To our surprise it was probably some of the freshest calamari we have both ever had. It wasn’t over cooked, nor was it chewie, and it definitely had no been frozen and defrosted. The concierge staff came out to see if everything was alright and then invited the chef out to our table. Our entrees were just as fresh as the calamari and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back.

We sat at a dirty table and never were given the drinks we ordered. The so called Spanish tortilla was microwaved and cold. For a luxury hotel, this restaurant does not deliver.The manager was apologetic for the poor service and food, but this should never have happened in a high end hotel.
