BBBOOONNN- SAAYY!!!. Sorry just getting my samurai on…unlike the samurai though this place was modern and shiek, i dont frequent places like these but when i do and its done right i like. This restaurant is pretty unique for the area. Service coulda been better but thats what happens when you have a bunch of young teens in close proximity of each other. We started with a soft shelled crab appitizer it was so light and crunchy with the airy batter, till you got to the middle where it explodes with warm crabby goodness.Pair it with the sauce they offer and mmmmmm soft shelled craaaaabb. For my dinner I went the terryaki duck, and it was so freaking good for the first half then it got kinda repetetive like the flavor became to much after a while, too much terryakki i soppose and lack of good sides but i doo recomend. It has this half an inch layer of crunchy fat still on with a natural glaze its just bombastic. My wife had the sweet and sour shrimp a-la thai and again it got repetetive after a while but it was really good, it comes in a bowl with the sauce and pineapples cucumbers, peppers. Shrimp was cooked to perfection. This place is worth the visit. I enjoyed it and i will be back for those sushi rolls i couldnt keep my eyes off. They still haunt my dreams.

NINJA ROLL. This is one of the best restaurants that I have been to lately. The food was excelle nt, theservice was great and the atmosphere is great. I would recommend everyone to go to BONSAI if they want fresh sushi. The thai food is excellent too. We will definitely come back.
This is the best restaurant that i have been to during my stay here in USA. I can definitely recommend this place for a date or a normal dinner.
Very Dissappointed. I kinda get the good reviews…the atmosphere is nice, has a Design District feel inside and the minimalist theme works well. And the hostesses are attractive so that doesn’t hurt either. However, the food is subpar. In my opinion, proclaiming your restaurant as ‘Thai’ means that the Pad Thai dish is going to be ‘good’ at the least. Pad Thai is the national dish of Thailand after all. The Pad Thai at Bonsai was terrible. The shrimp was overcooked, peanuts were not in the dish, the rice noodles were too soft, there was no spice, and the sauce was watered down. We ordered this first and it put a damper on the rest of the meal, which was also just okay. The sushi was as good as any other run of the mill ‘Thai and Sushi’ or ‘Japanese and Sushi’ restaurant. Further, the prices were a bit on the high side…especially for Tamiami. For me, the experiece was an epic fail because we drove all the way out there from Brickell because of the good reviews, and even for those that live closer, it still would be a fail because there are cheaper and better Thai restaurants in the area.
