Excellent Cuban Food. It is very consistent and authentic. TheCroquetas are very good as are all the main dishes. It’s my go to place for Cuban when I’m in the area.

Previous good experience erased. My wife and I just went there, about an hour and a half ago. We had been about four times in the past and had a good experience. Not tonight though: we just got there and were told to sit wherever we wanted, and so we did. Then there comes a guy with glasses (which we assume is a manager since he was checking tables later on) and literally drops two menus at our table without even saying good evening or anything! Then there comes yet another guy and drops a small basket of bread without even acknowledging us! Then after a couple of minutes our waitress comes and takes our order: what…no lasagna? Great! It’s only 8 pm and they already ran out! So my wife ordered the quesadillas. They bring our dishes and to our surprise the quesadillas are not such: they are wraps (there is a difference there). We never said anything. Our waitress never came again to our table to check on us or simply ask how everything was. Nothing. Only at the time of ordering dessert was she there, and then left and to our surprise she even walked out to the parking lot! It goes without saying that we asked for the check to somebody else, paid and left. Tip? Not a chance. You certainly need to earn it, and although the food was good (nothing out of the ordinary, I may add), the service was terrible! Before leaving, a couple sat at a table next to ours and was greeted by the manager (guy with glasses, remember?) with even a handshake. Wow, what a difference. I guess you have to be a friend or a regular to be treated there with a certain degree of respect! It is a pity for tonight after going through all this, our previous good experiences just vanished.

A taste of home. I’ve been to other Islas Canarias but this was a completely different experience. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere welcoming and the food was right out of my Abuelita’s kitchen. Great croquetas, plantain soup and fried yucca. Quality control across the board, will definitely go again.

My Favorite Cuban Restaurant. The food is delicious, and the service is always good. We always get our Thanksgiving turkey from there and it’s always great. And las croquetas……. oh boy!

Perfect for a dinner-time snack.. Skipping dinner? Get a small meal at Islas Canarias and you won’t be disapointed.
