Beg to differ about the Baba. The Rhum Babas are out of this world. How can one have too much rum on a baba?05 Sep, 2013Tasty Treats. The roasted vegetables on ciabatta bread are delicious. The shop has recently expanded and now all that is left is for someone to help them with their atmosphere. This little French pastry shop has all the right bakery items, cheeses and sandwiches but a little style, please.

The Quiche!. I stopped by here briefly looking for truffles and unfortunately I did not much care for the truffles at this particular place but the spinach quiche was excellent. I will go there again if just for the quiche.

Employee Shoutout. I have to give mad props to all of the employees there. If you’ve ever been there during their rush hour Saturdays, it is quite the juggling act. In between the never ending crowd of customers, having to answer questions about any of their selections, and preparing the food/drinks, they never miss a beat. Come to think of it–there are a lot of pastries and cakes there, which means there is a lot to memorize in terms of ingredients/preparation/cost since there is no detailed menu describing what everything is. And all of the employees know their stuff. It’s rather impressive really. It’s a rarity these days to find businesses with employees that have detailed knowledge about the products they sell and Au Peche employees do this well. Of course this place has delicious pastries and drinks, but I’m sure you can gather that from the other reviews :).

A Perfect Afternoon Treat. Absolutely delicious. Tried their Dacquoise and l’Opra. Beautiful to look at, and the latter is among the best pastries I have had in Tallahassee. Looking forward to going back and sitting down with a cup of coffee and another of their desserts when I have more time. sweetteaandbourbon.com

I’ve traveled to Europe a number of times for the primary excuse of being in search of the perfect cappiccinno and chocolate croissant. I’ve now found a quite satisfactory place right here. No, its not Paris, The coffee could be a tad stronger and there is no way to duplicate the rich yeast impregnated stone walls of an Italian bakery but I will certainly make this place a common stop when passing through town.
