Mind you, in a city where theres more than one establishment that sells shaved ice, you can expect to pay around $2 for a large while paying around $5 here at Big Easys. Although I’m not sure whether they use special syrups or whatnot, I still find it just a tad bit pricey. They do, however, have a good variety of flavors and a lot of specialty items like having soft serve inside your snow cone. I still haven’t been able to get myself to try it since I can’t seem to fathom ice (melty watery ice-in my mind) and soft serve (creamy dairy) being together (I tried the lemonade soft serve milkshake crap chik-fil-a had and upon realizing it was just their lemonade hand mixed with their ice cream i almost cried)…anyways…Its good on a hot day…So far I’ve liked all the flavors I have…The staff have been friendly and they let you have samples.
Great but OVERPRICED!. This was one of my favorite spots! I used to go twice a week with my family until I decided to try out the snowballs in New Orleans! The original snowball spots in New Orleans were way cheaper than what we are paying for here. I guess we’re paying extra to have a little New Orleans here. The flavors are great! I just can’t bring myself to pay double for what they cost in New Orleans.
Over-priced and not impressed. In the mid-West, we just call these shaved ice, and they are the best kind of sno cones. But, they’re common and hard to screw-up. They have the usual selection of flavors, but here they will add ice cream to the center of your cup for an extra dollar. A small cup stuffed is $4. I didn’t even finish half. While the ice cream/sno-cone combination wasn’t bad, it wasn’t all that good either. It was just a novelty. I didn’t like it enough to ever both going back.
Not half bad. Let me just start by saying that there’s a place back home that makes the most flawless snoballs ever. I didn’t think this place would be anywhere near as good. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It was almost as good. It’s all about how finely shredded the ice is, and this place does a pretty good job.
Amazing. We are hooked, teenagers are addicted. I can get these kids to go anywhere and do anything as long as a Big Easy Snowball is part of the journey. Try any flavor combo your heart desires. Have some fun, be creative. A large stuffed delight lasts for days in the freezer – unless your kids find it first…
Owner, Brenda, is from New Orleans and wanted to bring a little piece of the Big Easy to Tallahassee. Serving soft shaved ice with a huge selection of syrup flavors (sugar free options avail too). You can even get your Snowball stuffed with low fat soft served vanilla ice cream, and topped with condensed milk, evaporated milk, marshmallow fluff or chocolate sauce. This is a delicious treat for any time of the day!
Great!. Real New Orleans sno balls. Shaved ice with soft serve in the middle or you can just get shaved ice. Fun and inventive flavors that taste great. Give it a try.
