It is easy to drive past this place, but don’t. They have the best burgers you will find anywhere. The 10 oz burger is more than filling, and cooked to order. Toppings are extra, but worth it. The fries are forgettable, but the onion rings are crunchy perfection. Luckily, they provide a knife to help you tackle the massive burger. The food here is fresh, delicious and totally unpretentious. For those with gargantuan appetites (college guys), they also offer a 20 oz burger. Service here was much better than you would expect for a bar with a kitchen; our server was very attentive and personable. It was more than worth the 5-mile detour to eat here. This place is a true local gem.
Decent place to get fresh seafood in town in a homey atmosphere downtown. Nothing fancy, but good! Oysters are fresh and prepared well which is something that’s surprisingly hard to find around town anymore for a decent price.
Not the best. The food tastes good. I got oysters, seasoned with a few toppings. However, the prices were high. Where I come from, a dozen oysters is $5.99 for big, fresh, local ones. Here, they are $13 for a dozen small ones. In fact, a few of mine had a shell the size of a half dollar and meat smaller than a dime. Pitiful. Can’t believe I payed a dollar a piece for those things. However, the fries were good, and the burgers that I saw headed to other tables looked awesome. Nice and thick patty. Also, my waitress wasn’t the best. Rarely refilled our drinks and forgot to bring us things that we asked for several times, like a fork. Live music was enjoyable (fiddle and banjo). Probably won’t go again, but if I do, burger it is.
Monster Grouper Sandwhiches!. The burgers are killer too but man, the fish sandwich is delish. Pay in cash and save a buck. On the downside, the entire interior of this place has a permanent sticky film on it… so just sit outside.
So much to love. Good people. Great Foid
Awesome grouper sandwich! Very friendly…
Burger’s Can’t Do Me Wrong. This is my safe haven from all the bad burgers in Tallahassee-the chef must practice consistency. The lady from that quintessential Wendy’s commercial can definitely find the beef here. The burger is well-seasoned, very generously portioned, and served with a side of fries. The extra toppings are a must (fried egg and bacon ftw). What I really like about this joint are….you guessed it: OYSTERS. They are large, fresh, and well worth the price (get the dozen). Personally, I have never experienced the aphrodisiac effects of the oysters, but I somehow giggle every time I see my female companions slurp those delicious sea creatures.
