I want to like Black Dog, and I genuinely did for a while. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere, baristas. The coffee and food severly leave something to be desired. My biggest complaint though is that the last time I was there the owner was trash talking Lucky Goat within ear shot of groups of customers because of their building a new location. Yes, you do not have to like them moving in closer. Yes, I get and appreciate you are seeking to rebrand as more organic that other options in a growing market . No, it is not appropriate or professional to insult other people behind their backs in front of a customer. I want to support you, but how you act when you don’t think people are watching says more than that your new drink is organic. I’m sure you will see this and write something scathing back, that seems to be the pattern with these reviews and like I said previously, character. Go to Catalina over looking cascades park if you want friendly locals, excellent coffee, and wonderful atmosphere overlooking the park.
Great coffee. Great cozy atmosphere inside and great deck outside overlooking Lake Ella. This place has a real local feel with great coffee drinks and good food. The pastries and hand pies are tasty. Lots of vegan options too. I need to try more of their menu items. They also have super fun, always changing popsicle flavors like raspberry-hibiscus or balsamic-onion or cucumber melon. I usually just get a boring black coffee but my girlfriend is addicted to the Dual Spires latte which is pretty damn delicious. This place is so popular there is usually a line on weekends.
I just love Black Dog Cafe. Their coffee concoctions are yummy and fun to try. I had a blackberry flavored coffee drink several times and it was great. The vegan baked items are wonderful too. It’s a great place to go after walking around Lake Ella. This is a Tallahassee gem.
