This particular Canopy Road Cafe is so good you have to arrive way early to get a breakfast seat. This place has always given me first-rate service and first-rate omelets. If only the two-top tables were just a little bit larger and the noise level just a tad lower.
I don’t live in Tally, but if I did this place would become my favorite in town. Best review I can give you: I will be back any time I’m here.
One of the Top 3 breakfast joints in Tallahassee! Everything’s made to order and tastes like someone cooked it up at home. I always order something different when I go so eventually I’ll have everything on the menu. My most recent visit had me squaring off with the Big Daddy omelet with white pepper gravy. Almost started a riot from not being able to contain myself because of the deliciousness! Hot, huge and full of flavor! Canopy, Bada Bean and Woodchuck Cafe are easily the best breakfast spots in the city so make sure you check out all three!
Went there and ordered a Jamaican omelet one of their specials, and I must say it was really good. Kind of pricey for breakfast but I can say I would order it again. Yum yum
Nice breakfast joint. Our usual go-to breakfast place on Tuesday is Woodchuck’s, so we were surprised this morning to see that they were closed. Must have had some kind of disaster or something because they also have reduced hours for the next couple of days. Anyway, we needed somewhere else to try for breakfast. We had tried to stop in at Canopy Road last week but there was a 15 to 20 minute wait (on a Wednesday!), so we went elsewhere. If a breakfast joint doesn’t have a wait on the weekend, you probably don’t want to eat there, but I’m not going to wait on a Wednesday! Fortunately today, there was no waiting.No complaints. The service was quick and friendly and the food was great, especially the cheese grits. When they say cheese, they mean cheese. Prices were a tad higher than at our regular place, but only added about $2 to the overall check. My wife had an egg white western omelet ($1.50 extra for the egg white option) while I had the special – biscuits and gravy with eggs & ham (or whatever meat you want). Everything was nicely prepared and tasty. There isn’t much atmosphere, but we love Woodchuck’s, so we’re obviously not too fussy about that sort of thing.Next Tuesday, we’ll be back at our regular Tuesday breakfast spot (hopefully), but we will be back to Canopy Road Cafe on some other weekday in the near future, I’m sure.
Best breakfast. Best pancakes in town. I recommend the sweet potato pancakes and Elvis pancakes. For lunch, the portabella sandwich is amazing. I’m here every week or two and rarely have a bad experience with service (there’s one server who never seems to bring us coffee refills, but he’s the exception to the rule).
