Cantons Will Be Missed. This was an outstanding place to eat. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was cheap, which is a plus for college students. Unfortunately, they closed down; the reason is unknown. The new place is called Hong Kong Buffet. There is more selections of food in their buffet, but it’s not as good as Cantons. It’s a couple dollars more expensive than Cantons, but they have specials for their lunch and dinner hours.I will not be visiting the new place as frequently.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. It’s a cliche phrase, but it fits Canton Restaurant to a tee. I have been there several times and the food is always great. Our first time going (I went with my boyfriend) I was put off by the drab exterior. According to signage on the storefront it’s been open since around the fifties or sixties, and it definitely shows. However, it is quite nicely decorated inside. The waitress and manager are nice, if a bit hard to understand, and I like how they leave you alone, whereas many buffets I’ve been to the waitress is constantly flitting around you. In other words, Canton has good service that is also unobtrusive. The restaurant is always quiet, a nice place to go if you don’t like crowds. The restaurant is also very clean and nicely kept.Canton doesn’t have much of a selection, that much is true. However, their selection does vary from time to time and every time I’ve been there, everything they had was DELICIOUS. It’s so hard to find good Chinese food in Tallahassee, which is a shame – but if you aren’t bothered by a small selection, go to Canton. I would rather go there than Panda Express or Mr. Roboto any day, as Panda doesn’t taste so great and Mr. Roboto is expensive when compared to its portion sizes. Honestly, if I had the money, I would eat at Canton every week and not get tired of it.

Canton Chinese. I was very upset with the service received from the canton delivery service. I was unable to use my coupon and then the driver took over an hour to deliver when i live right down the street. Never using this again
Absolutely Terrible!!. My boyfriend and I wanted to have a nice, lazy night in and order Chinese so we called this place. When placing my order, the man on the other line was very hard to understand and did not wait until I had placed my entire order and kept rudely interrupting and asking if that was it after every item I had asked for. When we got our food, it looked absolutely horrid, the chicken was rubbery and the Chow Mein had no flavor whatsoever. We drove to the actual restaurant to ask for our money back and once we had explained our situation to the man left in charge he was VERY rude, talked down to us, and accused us of not liking Chinese food. He offered to change the food, but at that point we didn’t want any food from there. He challenged us and said that he would order the exact same food from another restaurant and if it tasted the same, he demanded that we pay him after we had just paid for his food and were denied a refund. My boyfriend and I were adament about getting our money back, and after an hour and a half of arguing with this rude and incooperative man we got our money back. The staff, including this man, rudely laughed in our faces. My boyfriend and I will never ever use this restaurant again. HIGHLY not recommended.
Great Chinese. This reminds me of the chinese that i used to get back home, they are one of the few places that has real fried rice on that side of town and the food was always good! Would usually pick up cause i lived close
