I am still so sad that Far East is closed. I had been going there since I was 14 (10 years). I almost always got their Pho, sesame balls and bubble tee, in fact it was the first place that I ever had bubble tea or Vietnamese food. They hands down had the best Pho in Tallahassee. My sister lives in Los Angeles and she was looking forward to having Far East’s Pho when she came to visit. She said that the Pho she used to have at Far East was the best Pho, even out of places in LA. The service and speed could be problematic but the food was so so good.

Still seem to have the best pho in town despite all the new places popping up. They truly excel at Vietnamese soups and stews. Love their vermicelli noodle bowls and rice plates. Stick with the Vietnamese side of the menu and you will be happy. Anyone I know who has tried the Chinese has not been pleased. They should really give up and take it off the menu.

Far East Cuisine is located in the same shopping center as TJ Maxx and Trader Joe’s. It had been several years since we’d eaten here because we don’t live nearby, but my wife wanted to check out Trader Joe’s (we’d never been), so she suggested we go to Far East for lunch.Although the menu has changed a bit, not much else seems to have changed. We both chose a different Thai stir fry dish and were glad to see that everything looked and tasted fresh, just as it always had. The veggies weren’t overcooked as is sometimes the case with stir fry and there was plenty of chicken. The included portion of jasmine rice was quite generous. Our server was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable length of time. The place won’t get any awards for ambiance or decorating, but it isn’t bad. The heavily tinted windows keep out the sun, but you still have nothing to look at through the vast expanse of glass but the parking lot.. Doesn’t impact the food or the service, tho, so who cares? We found some things at Trader Joe’s that we’ll probably want to come for again, so I expect that when we do, we will be also be going back to Far East for lunch.
