I do not recommend this pizzeria. The customer service was mediocre. I ordered a single slice with two toppings. As I began to eat my pizza the toppings started to fall off of it! It looked like they just cooked my pizza and then added the toppings after! The employees didn’t put much effort into the food I purchased. This was really disappointing. I will not be back!!
Stopped in at Gaines Street Pies. Local, hole in the wall atmosphere with GREAT pizza. Can get busy but well worth the wait. Margherita Mayhem marinara base with a blend of fresh mozzarella, pecorino romano, garlic, basil, tomatoes, olive oil and cracked black pepper.
$$$$. Pizza is expensive and not good quality.
Would be great if I could eat it. Place seems nice, no issues with staff or decor, have been to both Gaines Street and Midtown many times. My issue every time though: stop putting so much sauce on your pizzas. When all the toppings come off with the cheese in the first bite, you’re using too much sauce. Then I’m left picking the toppings off my plate, to manually rebuild the pizza every bite. I thought it was a fluke, but I’ve given it several tries. :shrug: Maybe I’m eating pizza wrong.
Good, with one downside…. I go there all the time for lunch. I love it. Favorite pizza in town. They have never let me down….Until one time when I tried to order a pie i haven’t had before (the mcburger). I saw it on the menu online and it looked great. Though they haven’t updated the menu online yet for some reason. So they tell me they don’t have it anymore, as well as several others. Fairly disappointing…
Gaines street pies. I don’t even LIKE pizza, but Gaines Street Pies has some of the most delicious pizza I’ve ever had. So naturally, I go every few weeks now. Sometimes its a hit-or-miss though, I think it depends on the cook. One order will have a substantial amount of cheese (which is what I like) another order will have what looks like a sprinkled half a cup. So if you like cheese, make sure to tell them. Even without the cheese though, the pizza is pretty amazing. Atmosphere: superhero themed, grungy, rock look. I personally think it has a lot of character!
