HORRIBLE SERVICE!. Went inside to place a take out order at 1:30 on a Friday for lunch. I stood at the hostess station by the front door for 10 MINUTES while multiple waitresses passed by me – with not one word. How do they stay in business. They won’t answer a phone, won’t seat customers (there were 8 other there too) I finally just gave up and walked out and went to Habanas Boardwalk… much better service. Gordo’s? Never again .
Gordo’s, has a fun atmosphere. However the service is very relaxed. You could be waiting for forever to get a check or even to get a drink at the table when you arrive.
No Mas. Ordered the special for lunch – Cubano and Black Beans and Rice. YUCK! Food was cold, black beans and rice was just that – no spices of any kind – just canned black beans and white unsalted rice. I found the salt in the Cuban sandwich – in fact that’s all I could taste. Money wasted, lesson learned.
This restaurant has terrible service at both Tallahassee locations. The food is good which is why it’s so sad the servers can’t do the simple little things they should. As a waitress I know that those little things, in addition to a polite attitude, put more money in your pocket. Whoever owns these restaurants needs to step it up and get more involved because it’s only common sense that great, friendly service brings customers back. Also when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told he was not there and they could not tell me when he’d be back. I’m not the type of person who ever complains at restaurants because working in a restaurant I understand that things go wrong sometimes. That is why I’ve come back to give Gordos another chance but I’ve come to realize I should just expect the same low quality every single time. Which is very sad.
Fails to meet expectations. I wanted this to be good. I am a fan of the Pensacola St. Gordo’s so if I can get that same food w/o the college kids that would be perfect right? Except it does not actually happen that way. I’ve given it 3 chances and It always disappoints. From condescending service to food that you can tell the cooks don’t care about. If you’ve never had Cuban food, plz don’t judge it by this place. I will say though the restaurant itself is nice.
Tallygirl. Yummy and great, friendly service. Worth a visit to have the Croquetas but do yourself a favor, and have something else too! Clever decor.
Relax, dine & enjoy. I love this restaurant, burger & food flavors are great — I eat there every chance I get. When my grandsons come to visit, Gordos is the highlight of their visit.Thanks for being in Market Square. fnj 🙂
