Not sure why the low rating, they accomplish the Neapolitan style pizza perfectly. I had flash backs to my time in Italy from my youth with their pizza and look forward to returning for another pie. As well, their staff was very friendly and the server had an excellent recommendation to try their Salsiccia E Riccota pizza.
This is an amazing and long-awaiting addition to the Tallahassee dining scene for me. After visiting Naples Italy in 2008 and having authentic Neapolitan style pizza, my belly has ached for something like it here!It was a long wait, but 7 years later, I can finally get a fix for my Neapolitan pizza cravings at Isabella’s! If what I ate in Italy was a 5, then Isabella’ gets a very close, almost-as-perfect 4.5 star rating from me. Don’t go in expecting a New York style slice, or something more general like Mellow Mushroom. Neapolitan pizza has a thin crust, very light and flavorful crushed tomatoes (not like the pizza sauce we are used to in the States), and a light sprinkling of fresh mozzarella. It must be baked in a very high heat, wood-fired oven. Don’t think your pizza is burnt if you see black spots – that’s the essential char that really makes a Neapolitan pizza! Isabella’s has nearly mastered that authentic look, feel, and flavor and I cannot sing it’s praises enough!Buon Appetito!
By far the best pizza in Tallahassee and quite possibly the best I have ever had. Quick, simple, delicious wood fired pizza. Everything I have had here is delicious and don’t forget to try the house made butter. Try this place you won’t be disappointed.
