One thing about the Lindy’s on N Monroe…….you’re always gonna get fresh, hot food. Although their regular chicken isn’t as seasoned as Olean’s, it’s still good. Their pork chop sandwich is simple but packs great taste. The fried livers are a country boy or girl’s dream and they have THE most tender fried gizzards I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve heard some negative things about other locations around town but the one on N Monroe is consistently good and always busy around lunch time which is a great sign.
Horrible Service. I was in town in late July for a college function. I went in and my mom and I were the only customers. We were never greeted. The cashier kept cleaning behind the counter as if we weren’t there. I left without ordering anything. It was dirty anyway. My mom had used the bathroom and said it was filthy.
This is a southern chicken shack. It has all the Sunday dinner fixin’s with very tasty, crispy chicken and tenders, collards, fried okra, pork chops and strong sweet tea; to name a few items. You don’t go for the atmosphere, you go for a chicken box or buffalo wings (yum), or the fantastic chick sandwich or chop sandwich. The chains cannot even come close! Call ahead for pick up and you can dash in & out to get your feast on.
I as well didn’t like it. This is specifically directed to the location near the Cabo’s off Appalachee. I’ve not been to any of the other locations. counter person was unfriendly. Chicken cook had very very dirty hands. Like he just cleaned out the grease trap.mashed potatoes were very hot and tasted like KFC’s mashed potatoes and were not very good even with butter and salt. This location was the one near Cabo’s off Appalachee. There were several men in the restaurant talking very loud and using the N word to each other. Just not a good experience. Maybe the Thomasville Road one is better, and I will give that one a chance tonight on the way home.
Bad service to go along with bad food. Either owner ship has changed or the people who gave this good reviews have no taste. The woman who took our order made it clear hat she did not want to be there, much less actually take an order. The chicken was dry, tasteless and fried in old grease. Nohing crispy about it. The ‘mashed potatoes’ were something that remotely looked like mashed poatoes but that was the only resemblance I could find. It was cheap. I would have preferred to spend more on something edible.
Okay, I’m curious as to why anyone would enjoy Lindy’s Chicken. I could make better fried chicken at home, and I’m a terrible cook! Their mashed potatoes were the box kind, and had a hint on dishwater for flavor. Their coleslaw was brown and oddly resembled a bad chicken salad with screds of crap. Oh, and the customer service is horrible!!! And the atmospher is like eating in a bathroom.. I will never eat here again!
You at Chick-Fil-A? Run next door!. For the life of me I can’t imagine why anyone would prefer soggy, bland KFC or Chick-fil-a over Lindy’s, which is right next door or down the street–unless they just can’t deal with having no drive-thru? It’s always nice to see a yummy local restaurant succeed and expand like Lindy’s has.
