Underwhelmed. :(. Locally source fresh ingredients! I looked forward to going here for many weeks. I really really wanted to like this place. And I tried. If you drink wine and eat meat – then there is a chance you will enjoy your dining experience. I do neither, so I left disappointed and hungry. I did try the mac and cheese since it got so many rave reviews. Big thumbs down there. The meat eaters in my party were not happy with their entrees either, complaining of excessive bbq sauce covering up overcooked, dried out meat. Not worth the $$. Too many other better places to eat. This makes me sad – as the concept is wonderful, but offerings and execution need work.

My husband and I went in for a date night and we were so happy we tried the Root Cellar! Our bread and cheese boards were amazing, the mushroom soup was delicious, and he caprese salad was the best I’ve ever had! They offer many delicious beers and wines, which we can’t wait to come back to try more of! My husband ordered the ribeye special and the flavored were fabulous. We will definitely be back!!

Top notch!. I took my wife to dinner for Valentine’s Day, and we chose this small but chic restaurant. We live in the neighborhood and have heard several people raving over it. Our candle lit booth was perfect for the occasion, and the staff here even had fresh flowers on the table! The menu is phenomenal, all fresh, locally grown ingredients from area farms are arranged to create unique and delicious meals. Both dinner menu and bar lists are extensive without making you feel overwhelmed like most places.Service was impeccable considering we dined out on the busiest holiday of the year. Staff were polished and professional. Now this is a top notch restaurant!

Snapper CRAZY good!. I ate here two nights in a row with my son and then with my sister…both nights I had the Snapper and tried ALL the homemade dessert icecreams and sorbet….outrageously good…could eat a half gallon! Wonderful atmosphere (of course, I’m a bit prejudiced since it’s my cousin Reuben’s restaurant)….love the music (both live and background….keep it up and I’ll be back next time I’m in the area!

Fantastic local restaurant, that supports local farms. The food is some the best that strays from the every night dinner place. Live music on select nights and a perfect atmosphere for a date.

I reckon any bug they had in previous reviews were all worked out tonight because our visit was stellar in the cellar! Fantastic cheese board, laid back casual with foodie delights, like red snapper over polenta….mmmm, chantrel soup, bay leaf creme brulee (awesome) and a muscadine gelato with the PERFECT ginger snap. Oh yes, the musical duo was a nice aperitif. I do wish the had a bit of electrical boost, as it was a stretch to hear them. Oh, yes… You can place a safe bet Iwill be back.
