Great food in a small, locally owned, mom & pop, working class restaurant.05 Nov, 2009I have been going there for years. The service and food is fantastic. A cheap meal that is great.
This is a cool restaurant in a flavorful part of town that ought to have more hip restaurants than it does. So Nick’s, which has been here forever, has to shoulder the ambitions for this part of town. Unfortunately it can’t bear the weight. The menu is thin and unimaginative, and what the restauant does is without without much craft. This is sad because there is a substantial breakfast crowd (including the reviewer) walking distance from the restaurant. With a little effort this could be a successful breakfast and lunch place much needed in this neighborhood. Situated walking distance between Myers Park and FAMU, this location could be a major location.
